Sean O'Neal wrote:Critics and people who take critics seriously have spent the last month or so fawning over Drive, Nicolas Winding Refn’s heavily stylized action film about a stuntman’s increasingly risky detour through L.A.’s criminal underworld. But what these people have failed to notice is that Drive does not have enough sweet, awesome driving like those Fast And Furious movies, which has spurred at least one Michigan woman, so far, to file a lawsuit against its distributor, because its trailer promised her that it would be as kickass as that film series, yet in actuality it “bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film ... having very little driving in the motion picture.” Also, there’s a pretty good chance it will start another Holocaust: “Drive was a motion picture that substantially contained extreme, gratuitous, defamatory, dehumanizing racism directed against members of the Jewish faith,” the lawsuit says, “and thereby promoted criminal violence against members of the Jewish faith.” More than just demanding her money back and ensuring the continued survival of the Jews, the plaintiff, Sarah Deming, is hoping to lead the way to a class-action lawsuit that you, too, can join, thereby finally bringing the movie industry to justice for its years of promoting films with trailers that try to make them look like one thing but are, in fact, another thing that is both boring and anti-Semitic.
Article
Oh that Ryan Gosling, always beating up the Jews and not driving fast enough, or with enough CGI. Reminds me of when people went to see Tree of Life becuase Brad Pitt was in it and complained that a Terence Malick film was long and existential.

The Neverending Story was only 102 minutes long. I wanted to be entertained until I died.
fethers! I want my money back. Also, it was racist against rock creatures with strong hands.

That would be the Lifelong Story. You're still shooting too low. I demand entertainment continue beyond my lifespan. Quick, file suit and demand reparations for every moment in time the film fails to continue!

You know...it's this sort of nonsense that has me actually praying that the " 2012 is the END!!" fruitcakes are right...
...And speaking of "2012" , I went in expecting to view a film about the complexities of Myan culture, I got nothing but GCI and John Cusack...I want my money back.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Reminds me of the woman who got attacked by a squirrel outside a mall and suffered scratches, bruises, and a fracture. She sued the mall for not posting a sign outside that said "Beware of squirrels" or something to that effect...
Also there was one where a guy went walking on the beach during a thunderstorm, he got struck by lightning and lived...he sued some committee or something for not telling him that walking outside during a thunderstorm was dangerous...
Generally these suits are made by people acting like children...which I guess is to be expected in this culture...
Damn commies...

It's people like that who force packets of peanuts to contain the phrase "May contain nuts" (despite the fact that peanuts are not nuts, they are beans) and fresh tea and coffee to carry the phrase "Contents may be hot". We can do without their presence in our genepool.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Ah, but unfortunately it seems by and large that the world is becoming " their" Genepool...not "ours", as the stupid tend to breed in staggering numbers...while more intelligent couples either have no children...or keep the numbers low ...or so it would seem.
I suspect that in the next 40 to 60 years the majority of the worlds population will consist of slack jawed idiots...thankfully I should be dead by then.

I have no idea what the article means regarding racism in Drive, at one point the sole jewish character mentions how a mafia family calls him a certain anti-Semitic slur to his face and the character is later killed by the main character due to being one of the antagonists of the film.
The killing of the character was unrelated to him being jewish and there were no other racial undertones in the film whatsoever...

Haven't seen the film...really have no desire to,but apparently the scenes you've described are enough for the individule pursuing the lawsuit to claim " Anti-Semitism"....

Even if they won, wouldn't they just get $10 back? Seems kind of pointless, really.
Also, people who complain that movies don't have as much driving in them as those Fast and Furious movies need to be exiled from society.

I've got a rule of thumb that any time someone defends something by saying "it's the principle of the thing" they're almost certainly being completely ridiculous.
