On the action RTS League of legends "Heal" and "Ghost" are my most used summoner spells. But every time I use "Heal" almost somebody will tell me to switch heal or calls me a "noob" but here's the thing I

find the spell useful for baiting enemy's into tower dives when I'm a low-hp then I press "Heal" at last moment they die from tower I survive another fight. It also has a nice area burst making it a good support

spell, in long duels it can make the difference between a kill or death, and when I'm being chased I sometimes use it to give myself enough hp to make it back to my tower. So DakkaDakka whats you thoughts

on "Heal"?

Heal is used by many noobs to compensate for when they make a mistake and take damage so tends to be associated with those inexperienced or just bad at the game.

Yeah, but a lot of people still take "Flash" so I thought it was somewhat more socially accepted.

Flash is more useful than heal though, a good player can avoid taking damage yet no matter how skilled you are you can't teleport.

This means that while flash is frowned upon it is generally taken due to how useful it is.

I would say "Flash" is more versatile I still think there's situations where heal would be better though. Also If you're playing tanks you want the enemy focusing his attack on you so the damage dealer can do

there thing. Oh another thing I use "Heal" for is for risky tower dives on the enemy.

I honestly don't see the point of Heal after they nerfed it with the Mastery Change.

I used to take it on all of my support characters, but now that they changed it from "Heals allies the same as you heal yourself" to "Heals for 15% more", I no longer find it worth it.

But then I play Ryze, so what do I know?

Heal is the second worst SS, only being outdone by Rally.

If you take heal, you are likely quite bad.

Most LoL players are quite bad at ARTS in general, however.

Supports are my main. Before the Soraka change I would actually hate the person who took heal as for a crappy 500hp heal on themself and 250 around them, all my heals would be reduced by 50% including the ulti for the remainder of the team fight. In sort it becomes a suicide button for the whole team. Though Rally was actually quite situational and was somewhat useful at times, but countered by the fact it is a stationary effect.

That being said after the changes to heals in general, creating a somewhat disbalance with the ever increasing damage of new champions, I went back to supports like Janna. To be blunt Soraka is an AP carry now, not a support.

Flash is still too good even after the recent nerf. Chasing carries can use it to easily close gaps, jump walls, etc. It adds in mobility to champions without it. Then champions like Ezreal just enjoy it all the more as they gain an additional blink letting them blink in and blink out with no penalty.

Heal sorta loses it's use at higher levels, but flash remains extremely useful all the time. Call me a noob if you want, I only care about winning or losing.

Also, I'm curious how many people here on dakka play LoL, and if we should attempt a group up. PUGs make me quit LoL every.single.time.

And they nerfed Vlad because of that same "Untargetability", then give it to another champion....

I forget what spells I use... Exhaust was one of them... I don't remember the 2nd but I believe it wasn't heal. I rely on potions, other players, champion's ability, or luck to keep my health up.

They're comparable in the sense that they can be used to fix your mistakes, also considering you've never played any matches with me in LoL that's a big assumption to make.

Except flash is actually useful and gamebreakingly powerful. Heal? Like I said, next to Rally in terms of usefulness, and when's the last time you saw a good player using Rally?

Heal is bad. Good players will still kill you regardless of whether you heal or not. Flash is much more useful as an escape spell.
