haha forgot about Eisenhorn, but read that to ^^
I also read the 1'st eldar book, the one with the stricking scorpion aspect. Was ok, but not realy motivated to read the next one.... ok I've been around the blobk in the BL but i've still got a bit to read ^^
I've also read the 2 night lord novels, big fan of those.

And i'm open for anything really ! As long as there is a good story to it !

If you're going to read Eisenhorn, I recommend Ravenor as well.

Titanicus is always a good choice.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Ravenor - if you haven't read it. Double Eagle is pretty good too.
I'm assuming you aren't interested in the HOrus Heresy books.
I actually quite liked the Grey Knights Omnibus for the most part. The third part was slightly iffy but might be worth a go.
White Dwarf has the Iron Warriors trilogy as the second best BL offerign ever so maybe worth a look, you and me both!

The Ultramarines omnibus is a good set, as are the books that follow it.

And both Space Wolf omnibuses are awsome too.

I'm not a fan of either Space Wolf or Blood Angels omnibus' and wouldn't recommend them personally.

Battle of the Fang is a good book and the Gildar Rift is supposed to be good too (not read the latter yet).

I'd definitely recommend Storm of Iron; one of BL's best books IMHO.

This.
It's freakishly entertaining as well as a good insight into how the Iron Warriors work as a legion.

I'm shocked no one has yet mentioned Aaron Dembski-Bowden's Night Lords books. Soul Hunter is the first, Blood Reaver the second. These are the only books I've ever read where Chaos Marines come across as anything more than one-dimensional clowns. He gives competent motivation and legitimate depth to his characters, as well as having them perform in compelling and surprising story-lines with satisfying action.

Ahh...no one suggested them because you already read them. My bad.

Try the other Sandy Mitchell books. (Scourge the Heretic and Innocence Proves Nothing.) I also really liked Let the Galaxy Burn, since it gives a great big selection of different authors and story styles.

I am a HUGE fan of those novels, HUGE fan. I was like a 7 year old kid on christmas morning when i got the second novel by post Living in france had 1 major inconvenience.... It's all in bloody french !

I'm going to have a look at Ravenor, sounds good. He was Eisenhorns student no ? The one that hangs out with the eldar and was caught in that huge blast that left him in a wheelchair ?or am I confusing him with someone else ...

When is the 3ed night lords coming out ?

Also what is imperial glory like ? I was thinking of getting that one to ....

Thats who Ravenor is.

He got burned up in the Eisinhorn books and was only in them for a little bit. It really fleshes out his character, which works quite well considering he was barely in the Eisinhorn books. almost like a footnote character. Its the Henchmen that really tie it all together.

Agreed - all of these are IMO really great books

Imperial Glory is good - has some interesting stuff on how Orks develop from spores and see the universe and and some very grim stuff in it....

I enjoyed the Salamanders novels - excellent Marines in action stuff plus some good Dark Eldar stuff.

Lord of the Night is great and I think you will enjoy if you enjoyed the excellent Soul hunter ad Blood Reaver.

Titanicus is very very good - although it seems to end very suddenly - could have done with another 50 pages or so IMO. Good characters, lots of action, interwoven stories - nice

Hammer of the Emperor has three veyr different stories - especailly enjoyed Desert Warriors

Path of the Renegade was quite good at trying to put across the Dark Eldar world

Path of the Renegade is about Dark Eldar, same kind of thing as the Path of the Warrior and Seer. Except without all the emoy love story shenanigans going on in the background. I'd guess.

Hrm, I like ADB's books, don't get me wrong, but I never felt like the Night Lords saga was as great as it is frequently made out to be. Definitely worth a read, but I don't have it in the same category as the Gaunt series, or more lightly, the Cain series.

I really enjoyed Hellsreach, and the Fall of Damnos. As a series, Grahm McNeil's Ultramarine books were solid- they were actually what got me in to WH40K to begin with. I flew through those, then the Space Wolf series, and was like, "Why would anyone read WH fiction that didn't involve crazy people in power armour all the time?" Then I picked up Eisenhorn, and was like "...oh, that's why."

The Tome of Fire trilogy was a little disappointing to me, since I've become a Salamanders fan. I thought their cameo in Hellsreach was more representative of what makes that chapter special, and ToF seemed to be mostly about "internal angst with people who like fire." Again, it wasn't bad, just not what I thought finally getting some dedicated Salamander's Black Library stuff out there could have been.

**Blood Angels anthology, three novels taken from Bloodquest comic strip plus six short stories
***Sabbat Worlds novel about the Phantine Air Corps
****Graphic Novel

They also mention a get-out clause for the HH series, saying that they come "from an earlier age", and therefore aren't technically 40K novels. However, for another what it's worth, an online friend of mine says that A Thousand Sons is arguably the best sci-fi novel he's ever read (and he's read a lot).

Homebrew Imperial Guard: 1222nd Etrurian Lancers (Winged); Special Air-Assault Brigade (SAAB)
Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)

Not sure how the ULtramarines Omnibus got all the way up that high. Its ok but hardly amazing. But then, Angels of Darkness isn't far behind. Does anyone honestly thing the Ultras books trump Ravenor?
Likewise with the Space Wolves books. I love Bill King's fantasy books. Drachenfels is a classic i always think of fondly, and beasts in velvet and the gotrek stories are cool, but he should stick to that genre. His Space Wolf books read like Warhammer fantasy books, which always seem to be written in a more simplistic way, perhaps aimed at younger readers. Might just be my impression.
REckon the Cain books could be higher up too. Good fun, if a little repetitive.

Even just the first novel of the series.
That book had to be the best book in the entire 40k selection, it would make the best movie ever!.
