I can't get through one thread on this site without someone ragging on Ultramarines, Leman Russ and the Space Wolves, and anything else that I dare to like. So who is so great? Who is just so undeniably wonderful that all eyes should fixate on him/her?

I don't really have problems with the Ultramarines. SW are meh to me, I think they're a little campy, but whatever. Not to the point that I'd rag on them. Same with GK, I just don't particularly jump at the feel of them.

The guard's tanks are pretty awesome, though. Nothing like eleven barrels of pure death.

As to your question, Tu'shan of the Salamanders is a pretty awesome dude, shame he doesn't have any rules.

It's because people who don't like things tend to be more vocal about them. You'll see a million threads bitching about Grey Knights, Mat Ward. Finecast, or whatever, but you'll seldom see one that's positive. People who like what they've got don't tend to be as outwardly vocal about it.

I'm not asking, "Who should I like". I like what I like unapologeticly. I would like to know who the haters like. If Russ is so terrible, than who do they think is so great.

If I should hear some new names (like Tu'shan), than all the better.

Pretty sure no one person is loved by all in 40k. Someone or thing will never be the right style or flavor for all players.

I don't think I've ever read of anyone not liking Creed or Marbo.

And to answer your question, people for some reason love to let everyone else know what they don't like. Like it is personal objective to be sure to mention it whenever they post.

But don't buy into it so easily. Most people on here actually don't hate Matt Ward or the Ultramarines, it's just that the few who do hate them are so focal about it it seems as if everyone does.

I will say I don't like Leman Russ or the Space Wolves, while I do like Guilliman and the Ultramarines.

I would have to say that I like the majority of the people in the lore. However, I'm not too big of a fan when a hero has no character flaws, which happens more and more when you venture into GK/SW/Ultramarine territory. This is one reason why they get so much Flak compared to others, is because many of their unique individuals are flawless. GK are actually ok by me, I just poke fun at their cheese. SW though not my style also get a thumbs up. Cool rivalry with their Primarch and that of the Dark Angels as well as being freaking space vikings. Ultramarines on the other hand are the only Chapter that really gets a thumbs down. They were totally ok with their legion breaking up, and they are typically just too perfect and "goodie good" marines. Boring.

I like almost all the Chapter Masters for the current Codex's outside of UM as I said before. I like Helbrecht (maybe a bit bias) because he is a BAMF but doesn't always come out ontop seeing how Imotehk cut his arm off!

Someone I actually hate the most in the game/lore is Eldard. I hate the fact that I can play someone who is really pretty dead. He has even a less chance of being alive than Leman Russ, so why can't you play Leman Russ on the tabletop?! GW needs to replace Eldrad with a new named Farseer IMHO. However his lore is alright I suppose.

I like Commander Farsight of the Tau. His fluff isn't over the top, his victories are secured with strategy and tactics, using his forces effectively and selecting battlefields where he has an advantage, as opposed to a ridiculous act of awesomosity where he single handedly wipes out an Ork invasion including personally slaying the Warboss in hand to hand combat.

Skilled tactician and strategist, enigmatic and forged a bond between himself and his soldiers which kept them united even after their split from the rest of the Empire.

I'm all for the Greater Good side of the Tau but it's nice to have variety. Plus in my opinion Farsight is still working for the Greater Good, he just has a different vision of how to accomplish it than the Ethereals.
