Here's a couple interesting thing somebody found and posted on the Infinity Forums

From http://magabotato.de/?p=5457
Well a short translation of the most important stuff from the article:
Hier mal eine nüchterne Auflistung, was uns alles erwartet:

Ca. 10 neue Einheiten pro Fraktion
-> about 10 new units per fraction

GEHEIM -> secret?

Für jede Fraktion eine Spec Ops Miniatur, welche den Spieler auf dem Spielfeld repräsentiert. Der Blister soll verschiedene Kopf- und Waffenoptionen haben.
-> for every fraction a spec ops miniature which is representing the player himselef, with different weapon and head options

GEHEIM -> secret

Eine fortgeführte Geschichte. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Spielen verändert sich das Infinityuniversum dauerhaft mit dem Buch und ergänzt es nicht nur um weitere Facetten.
-> ongoing storyline which will change the infinity universe and enhance it with several new facets

Natürlich mehrere Missionen die abwechslungsreich sein sollen.
-> multiple mission which will be very varied

Ein Erfahrungssystem, mit welchen man entweder den Spec Ops aufrüsten, oder seine Armee individualisieren kann.
-> an experience system which can be used to upgrade the spec ops or to individualize your army

Neue, stark getestete, Fähigkeiten und Regeln.
-> new strongly testet rules and abilities

Wieder ein „Chick with Robot“
-> an other chick with robot ;-)

Some more details from the article:

The whole company facilities are as large as the studio of the author's podcast people. And they are full of comics and other gubbins (creative chaos)

Everything is handmade without any CAD programs, even the TAGs. The original sketches are in standard pose, the sculptor has to make up the dynamic one.

New book is more than just a campaign, almost a second Human Sphere. If you play once per week, you may take 6 months to play the campaign.

They already have plans for the next book.

They invited the author for some LARP fighting in the woods.

I think Kaplan Securities might get me to shelve my ALEPH force.

That seriously is some good looking gear, and I'm gonna email Corvus Belli to see if they have any artwork they could pass my way...

Making your own Infinity character, a customizable hero...

Hmm. I think there's probably some mistranslation or idiom. I suspect it really means "a player character" rather than "the player".

"This is is me in game" doesn't really work - a) it's egotistical to have "me, if I were awesome" and b) many (if not most) wargamers would be less than useless in a firefight.

Not really; it's a role play, much like any MMO; This is the type of Orc I would want to be if I were an Orc, or if I were to live in Ascalon, I would totally be a Necromancer. It's not you, but it's your Noodly appendage if you were the FSM.

I think it could be a pretty neat idea. Could be really cool for a story driven campaign.

I'm not seeing how that's a "not really". You might choose to play MMO characters as thinly veiled versions of yourself (which, in my not so humble opinion, doesn't count as roleplay - there's absolutely no assumption of another persona involved) but your anecdotal example doesn't mean that the term "player character" isn't a more accurate and less idiomatic definition.

All MMO characters are player characters, but not all of them are meant to be alternate versions of their players.

Are they not? You interact with people on them, you socialize while being "That person". Even in TF2, people on my server know me as Havik, the Pyro Player. Not as Slarg232, the Miniature player. You do assume different personalities while playing MMOS, and they are your alternate Persona.

Then, rather by definition, they are only you by idiom and my original assertion is valid, is it not?

Was the bit about the Spec Ops miniature removed from the original article?

Well, even if it's "just" a player character, it's still something to represent you truly. something I found lacking when I started wargaming. As in, I had a hard time gaining immersion since I had no idea what was "me" in the game. ¨
In both my Fantasy and 40k armies, there is no representative of me. Sure, I have good, long backstories for both of them, with generals and other figures important to respective army... But I still felt more of a spectator than someone involved.
I get the feeling that this, even if it's just a player character, will change that, since the game now has a "me".

But it looks like a Nomad Adhesive Launcher
And in the Logo Voting thingy, they were listed in the Mercs Category
Aleph don't want mercs they can't fully control right ? =P

It'll be interesting to see what happens.
Maybe Aleph uses mercs without them knowing that they are working for Aleph so that way Aleph has plausible deniablity.

Fluff-wise I could understand
But how do you explain this in-game, when you are facing Aleph forces clearly working with mercenaries =P

Maybe it's just the best weapons money can buy? They could be O-12 certified or something like that. Not just a rag tag bunch of mercs like Yuan Yuan.
