Hello there...

On the 27th and 28th of July 2013 we will be hosting, Animosity - In the Hive of the Dead.

As part of the Campaign Weekend I need to collect as many zombies as possible to field in our Hive of the Dead Campaign mission.

With this in mind I decided to incorporate a charity effort into our Campaign Weekend. I need the good people of dakka to help me, simply by painting and sending a single (or multiple if you've got the time) zombie miniature to us. Your zombie will shuffle its way across our Campaign Weekend and then onto ebay with the rest of his undead buddies. Whatever the final accumulation of zombies makes on ebay will be donated to the Help for Heroes charity.

For every dakka member that offers to help I will add a nurgle icon and we can see a digital representation of the horde as the plague spreads through the Hive!

Obviously the good cause will benefit from everybodies efforts and our Campaign Weekend will benefit from the massed horde of undead that your generosity will provide!

The Important Stuff...

1 - The zombie does not need to be a standard GW Fantasy battle zombie, but must recognisably be a zombie.
2 - Please mount the zombie on a standard round 25mm GW base (the kind that single miniatures are always on in 40k)
3 - Please base the miniature with an urban/underhive theme
4 - Signal your intent to participate in The 40King Dead - Zombaid by posting on the thread and increase the horde!
5 - I will let you know via PM where to post the zombie
6 - The event is on the 27th of July, please post your ZombAid contribution before the 4th of July!

Nuke Arts are amazing! I should add, that when they say they're in, they mean it! Nuke will be fronting our charity efforts with a professionally painted (to display standards) Typhus miniature...

How cool is that!

Their continued support in all our Animosity efforts is greatly appreciated!

It seems help for heroes may be the best option. Does anybody wish to put forth a second recommendation?

So it begins...

Okay, so its not the best image on dakka and doesn't quite reflect my best work with a paint brush, but they're zombies... they aint meant to be clean and tidy!

Just a nudge to keep the thread going! This weekend saw the first Animosity Campaign Weekend and i think it went very well! In March we host the Age of the Emperor event and roll on to july in which we'll need those zombies dudes! Remember, its for charity!

I've been working on the rules for the massive zombie horde game at the event. Whilst they are not ready to show as they are very much wip, rest assured they'll make the gaming side of this event very interesting.

Hopefully those that have expressed an interest in helping are still willing to do so as this will be progressing at some pace in the near future!

Received an awesome boost to the zombie horde today... thanks to Mantic games for their extremely generous donation to the cause. Remember, the money raised from the sale of the Zombie horde and NukeArts pro painted Typhus, will be donated to Help the Heroes!

These dudes will be painted to represent the walking dead of the Hive's Arbites and PDF forces!

We'd appreciate as many people participating in the ZombAid collection as possible but if you feel strongly about it, whilst I don't agree with your position, I won't hold it against you if this decision determines your choice to participate.

The Ullanor Crusade takes place in two weeks time. Once the Pre-Heresy event is complete I will begin dedicating most of my time to the completion of my portion of the zombie horde. Remember, ZombAid will need the help of the community to be successful, not only with the painting and donation of the walking dead, but in the eventual online auction which will raise the funds for our chosen charity!

I've managed to source a lot of zombies from the wargames factory, via horde'o'bits on ebay (purchased) and as previously mentioned, Mantic Games (donated) have also added to the cause. combined with my initial surplus of brain eaters the horde has almost 50 zombies thus far. Typhus (purchased) will be dispatched to NukeArts soon for a professional display standard commission paint job (donated).

There are still some months to go, but if you would like to contribute it would be best to start sooner rather than later as hobby deadlines often slip beyond the realms of retrievability (is that even a word?).

Having seen the Ullanor Crusade moved to November and having The Veiled Region come and go extremely quickly, all efforts now move towards July and the growing Zombie horde!

Found some more zombies in a box yesterday... the horde grows.

I'm going to begin work on the underhive tomorrow...

as things stand the zombie horde is less a horde and more a few stumbling corpses that seem to have bumped into each other. I must work on increasing the corpse count.

Help for Heroes people!

Righto chaps and chapettes... I really want to get the horde work ramped up so if you can see your way to helping us out by donating some painted zombies on 40k urban bases that would be awesome. Its for Help the Heroes remember!

The auction will take place in August after the event and feature a pro painted Typhus which will really help us to bump up the bids... but if the hordes is lacking in hordiness we may not get as much for charity as we hope for.

Just PM me for details for the address and stuff etc and lets see if we can't give the walking dead herds a run for their money in the corpse count!!!
