I have to say, most of the time, Tyranids do nothing for me. Aesthetically, they're not my thing.

This hive fleet is different. These are amazing! I love the little spots you've done on their carapaces, and the gory, sticky spores are disgustingly awesome! 10/10, well done!

this is beautiful. Not a fan of some of the conversions but the paintjob is incredible. I love what you've done to the carapace and it fits the snow bases perfectly. The coloring of the wings more so, especially against the darker flesh

I like the paint scheme, it really pops out on camera. They're definitely eye catching.

Thank you sir! I was hoping to nail something different, I'd agree normal Tyranid schemes are nothing to write home about and I didn't care for that.

Thanks, you know I'm quite proud of my Mycetic Spores and Carnifex-to-Tervigons, but I definitely acknowledge my Hive Tyrant is just alright, and my Parasite of Mortrex isn't something I'd repeat and have considered tearing apart. I'm a pretty novice sculpter with greenstuff some of my experiments came out well and others didn't sadly. I did enjoy doing the snow bases, and it was quite easy for the most part.

Thanks! Contrast was the goal, I think Tyranids do best with that.

Sweet paint job, nice color combo and great detail. My only complaint is the white spots on the black carapace, sorry but looks like an lady bug on steroids. Great job over all.

I kind of felt the same way, the spots don't do it for me. But most other people swear up and down they prefer it.

Very nice paint scheme and you have some very unique conversions in there!

They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many - so, so many voices. They are coming for us - flesh, body and soul!

How ironic it is that as fast as we spread progress and hope throughout the galaxy, the Tyranids spread death and despair. Only united can we hope to stand against them.

Honestly, they're pretty awesome, especially the mycetic spores. I really like the comic-bookish paint style. They must look good on the tabletop.

Oh absolutely, I'm actually a terrible sculpter and these are deceptively easy. Take your finest Nickelback CD for a base, plop on whatever base modeling stuff you normally use. The core of the model is nothing more than a toilet paper cardboard roll. Hacked up a little bit, another one cannibalized to make some of the 'landing shell' I painted to fit the army. Then I took a hot glue gun to it, and just dribbled small amounts slowly in the areas I wanted to give that birthed-flesh look. I actually got the idea from this Youtube video (which I did not make) and added a few Tyranid claw bits to stand in for the 'lash whips' the model is supposed to have:

It's a small contingent, so I wasn't sure I wanted to start a new thread, but here you go! There's a Forgefiend that isn't finished so I left him out, all commissioned work for a friend.

Love the Tyranids, and your cultists are pretty sweet too! Did you sculpt the veiny plague webbing on that chainsword (pic 3rd from the bottom) or did it come that way? Your vibrant colors and hard, bold lines are very reminiscent of a comic book-y style that fits your armies (especially the bugs!) remarkably well.

Thank you kindly! That webbing is actually part of the Finecast model, so edging it out was no difficult task. I was also told my Tyranid color scheme matches the flag of Estonia (?).

Outer Space, Apparently

think you did an excellent job on those tyranids. as people have said before, nid paint schemes are pretty dull. This scheme wants me to collect nids now deep down!

the nurgle chaos stuff on the other hand is a different matter. I really don't think the colours mix well at all. I know they are supposed to be nurgle followers, but that scheme is just a bit to sickly to look at! this isn't to say that its a bad paint job - I think you have put some amazing detail into those models.

Keep it up!
