Hi everyone. I'm a painter from South Florida and I decided to start a Dakka P&M blog to show some of my work. Hope you enjoy!

This is a WIP of a Word Bearer's Land Raider I'm currently working on. The braziers and tusks are from the Warshrine of Chaos kit from the fantasy range.

The preacher bellows out thunderous words of impurity and hatred, all to glorify the loathesome gods he serves! The pulpit rests atop the heavy bolter turret, which seemed appropriate while I was making this... that way, the enemies of the XVII Legion will believe and die - in that order. He is flanked by acolytes on either side, who assist his sermon by pouring bolter-fire into the ranks of the unbelievers. The Dark Apostle will be fastened to the tank by magnets, so he can be detached and used as a regular model in the game. Sometimes you've got to do your smiting up close and personal. I'll probably have to crucify a space marine at the top of that totem-pole, before this project is done...

Rest not in destruction. Know ye not that the Sword of Hatred has no scabbard? Be thou, then, the ever-drawn sword of the Gods, that thou mayst never weary in shedding the blood of the righteous. Let those who oppose the Gods look upon thy countenance and tremble. May the Gods grant them a moment of faith, a gruesome death, and an eternity of torment... in their mercy. Thus spoke our primarch on the 666th day of his ascension. Thus I speak now unto thee. Thus let it ever be, forever and ever, Amen. - From the Epistles of Marduk.

It's about 95% done. The only thing left is to crucify a marine on the chaos star, and to build a base and the magnets that will let the preacher detach. I'd also like to put up an apocalypse sheet for this thing, at some point, since this seems like the kind of project they were designed for. If anyone's wondering about the Pentagram, I was talking this project over with the customer, and we agreed that the Word Bearers were pretty much satanists. So, it only seemed natural....

Some preheresy World Eaters I did a while back, for my personal collection. Have always wanted to finish the army...

Thanks. Waiting for some chains I to come in from ebay, so I can crucify a loyalist properly...

A new Word Bearers project - a Sorcerer of Chaos Undivided, utterly enslaved to the hideous gods of the warp! This guy took a couple of hours to put together, most of it spent selecting bits. Getting them all to fit right together was a task too, since space is limited on even a terminator model. I also repositioned the legs, so that he would look like he was stepping into the spell he's casting. The only thing really left to do is to green-stuff the left shoulder-joint where the gap is showing. Hopefully I'll be able to paint him some time in the next week or so. I'd like to eventually do an entire army of devil-worshipping Astartes! I'm also working on a trio of riptides and another trio of contemptors, but they're not converted so there isn't much to show at the moment. More pics to follow.

Thanks... yeah the raider is pretty wild. I originally bought the Librarian to use as the base model for the sorcerer, but came to feel it wasn't chaosy enough, realized that what I really wanted was the arm and the posture. Working on a Word Bearers vindicator today, will put up some WIP pics this evening.

A Word Bearers Land Raider WIP... The Mouth of Damnation! Sometimes you've got to blast imperial fools right off the face of their wretched planets.... only thus can the gods be magnified. The only thing left to do with this model before painting it is to add green stuff around the candles, for flame and wax.

Since I won't have any current projects to show for a while, I thought I would post some pics of some preheresy guys I did a while back. This is the nucleus of what I hope to build into a much larger force. The project was inspired by Big Red's death guard army, featured on BOLS. I liked that the collection showed the story of the legion in models, so I wanted to try to do something similar with the World Eaters. I tried to hold back on the blood splatters and battle damage in order to emphasize the transition the Sons of Angron underwent, from loyal soldiers of the Imperium to blood-crazed maniacs. In other words, I didnt want to make an army of berserkers in blue and white armor, since that hasn't happened yet.... Instead, I just wanted occasional hints of the dark fate that lay in wait for these warriors...

Thanks. I like it. The body and the legs are a bit stubby but the whole mechanical dragon thing needed to happen, IMO. It just doesn't look like a metal version of a regular D&D dragon, so I think that throws some people..

My preheresy project. It's as yet a modest force, but from humble beginnings, a mighty legion can grow!

thanks! It stands ok - I just had to make sure the back foot was well toward the rear of the base so that it wouldn't tip over. Other than that it's just superglue and some repositioning. Some of the joints had to be philed and clipped down to make it work. I'll be painting that model over the next week or so, will post pics when it's finished.

thanks! I'm trying to get all these word bearers WIP painted in time for Beaky, a tournament that's going to be in FL in October. It's always hard to find time to work on personal projects.

True... the world eaters are wearing armor that hadn't been invented yet in the 31st millenium. Had to balance the fantasy-world considerations of accurate armor with the real-world considerations of holding onto my money. In the event, the fantasy world lost that argument.

Thanks for the compliment!

As I was painting the Land Raider pictured earlier, the Gods spoke unto me, and my soul was bedarkened by their Foul and Radiant Glory. I was seized with a conviction, with a certainty, with a purpose! I knew that it was my destiny to fashion unto Them an army of the XVII Legiones Astartes, that the galaxy may know the truth of the Word they bear! Proving the Infernal Providence which they wield over the destinies of all mortals, I was contacted shortly thereafter with a request to paint a Word Bearers army for a customer! I seized the opportunity, and began to fashion models for my own collection as well, that I might paint my own army side by side with my customer's, and in this way aspire to a two-fold damnation! Proving again the magnitude of their dark and baleful blessings, a spirit whispered unto me that the Land Raider I featured earlier would return to me, and lo! I am trading models that I shall paint for models that have been painted! O, who can deny their infernal munificence? Who can look upon their works, and not praise them for the misery and suffering they bestow upon us... in their mercy? Are there any so hard-hearted, so stiff-necked, so obstinant, that they will not accept gladly the eternity of suffering which they have laid up for us? O let us praise them, my brothers, that we may become perfect in our hatred. Come, let us praise them...

I think I'm just happy to be painting chaos models again. Much less models for my own collection, which frankly doesn't happen much these days. Glory unto Them.
