Just a little note to say that the Stug Chimera Conversion kit featured below has now been snapped up by Master Crafted Miniatures - http://mastercrafted.co.uk/
Hopefully it should go into production soon. I'm quite excited to see it cast up properly and generally done better than I could manage in my garden shed.
A big thank you to all those who made encouraging comments on this piece when I first featured it. I'll now be starting work on another conversion kit. Not sure what this will be yet so I'm happy to take requests. If you have any Chimera type preferences leave your comments here and I'll do my best to accommodate.

I like this! You could use it as either a salamander or a griffon that has an Armoured Crew Compartment, or even put a huge flamer in the weapon mount and call it a hellhound. Great looking conversion kit tomcra, any idea when it'll be ready for general release?

Not yet I'm affraid. I only just sent the Master off.
That ASLAV idea is a good one. I've seen a lot of set-back Chimera configurations. To be honest though there are already kits out there that do a good job of this.

A slightly taller kit with a larger caliber main gun, in fitting with a wargame where the handguns are chambered in "canned ham". Also a smaller caliber, much longer gun perhaps with muzzle brake.
I look forward to being able to buy these, they look terrific.

This is pretty cool. You could use it as a basis for any closed compartment artillery piece, a really sick looking Salamander, an actual "StuG" Leman Russ army maybe, and who knows what else.
I'd gladly treat my tanks weapons as hull mounted to have an excuse to field these

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

True. But it would be nice to know if their startup time would be in say 8 weeks or 8 months. I'll need to buy more chimera!

I was thinking some sort of Griffon or something like that. I'm an artillery fan for my guard though.

I was thinking of running them as medusas with an enclosed compartment. That's the best fit I can think of for the model.

That would make sense, but I think the Medusa has a bigger bore than that. Also, I already have some of the Maxmini Siege Guns being used as Medusae. I haven't found a good Griffon replacement, they really are lacking imho. They're cheap and useful, but hard to find kits for. I've been thinking about what else to use it for, and maybe a really cool looking Devil Dog? Something along those lines as well? Some sort of AA gun? I love the model and I would find some place to make it work!

Hi all
For info you're probably best emailing master crafted miniatures directly. Since selling the piece I've heard that he's managed to get some decent casts from it which is good news. Perhaps if they start to see the demand for this piece they'll bring the release date forward.
Sorry i can't give any more info but i only sold the master.

Possibly, although it's not a done deal. I've got to finish it off before I start working out who might be interested in it. That chassis is pretty much done. I've just got to spend some time working out what sort of barrels it might be supplied with. I might do it without any at all and leave it to the buyer to work out what they want to mount on the thing. The coupling is like the front cannon coupling on the Foregworld Malcador so it would take a bit of modelling to get something pre-existing to fit.
Automatically Appended Next Post: By way of a teaser, here's the Griffon type model that I'm working on.
I'll do a proper thread for this model tomorrow with multiple camera angles etc. For now though .... enjoy.
