Hello Dakka!
In a similar style of the recent Burger thread, what's your poison?
As an aside, how much does it take to get you drunk?
Personally I go for vodka, either Smirnoff or Red Square. On a lighter night, I'll usually have some WKD.
I've never actually been noticeably drunk, though. Even after 8 shots, one WKD, and a vodka and Dr. Pepper the other night, I was completely sober. Not bad for a six-foot twig like me.
Share as much or as little as you like!

Kopparberg/Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime cider. It's the only stuff I like drinking and seem to be able to keep down.
I don't know my limits, though. My stomach has a habit of returning to sender most alcohol before it can have an effect, and the most cider I've ever had in one sitting is 2 bottles, mainly because they're expensive and I wanted to have some left.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I tend to like pale ales, and if I'm going bottled, I like Corona with the lime. Blue Moon or Fat Tire are also OK, and I'm not averse to Heineken. To be honest I can barely taste the differences in most beers, and drink all of them sparingly - not really a beer guy. The only one I won't drink at all are stouts and really dark stuff.
When I'm actively drinking I tend to I like Jack & Coke; which is bizarre because I like neither Jack nor coke individually. For some reason when you combine them, though, all the negatives get cancelled out.
I don't generally drink liquor neat, but when I do I prefer tequila or vodka shots; middle shelf. Also fond of Hennessy, when the mood strikes me.

Likes: Vodka, manischevitz, jagermeister, bacardi 151 (only to get drunk really), sour puss, and red wine.
Dislikes: rum, gin, whisky, white whine, weak beer, anything below 5%, and tequila.
Beer is okay.
Give me three shots of something strong and I'll enter my happy zone.

Rum, preferably Kraken.
Beer, craft/micro/imports, can't stand anything brewed industrially in the US, might as well be carbonated sewer water
Mixed drinks in general.
BTW, if anyone has empty Kraken bottles they would like to 'recycle', PM me. I'll give say... $5 + s&h per? I only ask the bottle AND LABEL be intact and undamaged (no stains, tears, cracks, etc.) and you properly stuff the box with newspaper to cushion the bottle from damage during shipping.

Cocktail wise it's all about the Mojito (with good rum, the local cocktail bar uses Havana Club 12 year as standard) or whiskey sour for me. Beer wise I'll take Guinness (on a clear day you can see Ireland from the beach next to my house) or some breed of pale ale. Straight spirits wise give me Honey Jack or some good scotch. feth mixers.

Proper fething tequila. I'm a fairly recent convert to sipping the 100% agave stuff and boy, its a revelation.
I do like Jagermeister and am well known with my mates and ex work colleagues for stepping into a bar after work and having a few shots of the stuff for starters.
I don't like lager or ales although I do like the taste of becks Vier or Stella Artois 4% (blue). My pint of choice would be Caffreys but I don't really have the stomach for long sessions on big boy drinks!
Sometimes i can go all night on nothing but shots and not feel too many ill effects. Other times I go hard early and go home the same.
I used to love vodka but have been put off the stuff after having a night out with some Danish lorry drivers. The fethers carry plastic jerrycans of god awful vodka on their travels and swigged it like it was water. 'Hey, you are turning green, maybe you English don't know how to drink eh?' Fethers!

Scotch.
I prefer smokey, and as a general frame start with Jonny Walker Black.
Oddly I am not a fan of the Double Black as it was too sweet for me. Mayhaps I shall try it again and change my mind.

I mostly end up drinking beer (not really picky as long as its not too bitter, wheat beer is good) and vodka. My absolute favorite drink is the mudslide. It's literally a chocolate milkshake with vodka and irish cream in it. How can you not have one for desert right? Also a fan of vodka and red bull, although I might be revising that estimate because when I first had it I was in China at the time and they served the most watered down drinks ever. Coming back here and getting hit by "full power" is another experience entirely... I don't actually drink that much, only once every couple weeks (and I'm a college student too...something is wrong here), so I don't really have much of a tolerance. That and I tend to get really aggressive and overestimate my capability. A couple bottles of beer is plenty to make me feel good about life, but I never seem to remember that fact

When it comes to beer, I love IPA's and stouts for relaxing, and lagers for party time. My favorite cocktail is a rum & coke. I'm also known to relax with a book and glass of scotch on occasion; I have a bottle of Johnnie Walker Green that's been waiting for a good enough occasion to finish it off

Beer: Shiner Bock as a generic mass produced beer and I like most porters and stouts. But I don't drink them to get drunk because beer makes me really sleepy.
Liquor: Whisky/Bourbon is king. As a generic go to I drink Jack and Coke but I really like Jefferson's Rye with ginger ale and If I'm drinking it neat I like Woodford reserve or Four Roses single barrel.
Specific dislikes: anything with a black liquorish smell/flavor, specifically Raki or any of its derivatives. Long story short I almost died in Turkey, and now the slightest hint of liquorish makes me want to vomit. But I am told I had an absolutely awesome night until about 3 am!

Depends on the occasion. If it's just another day, Newcastle is the benchmark of beers. Relatively cheap, and I can get it anywhere worth going. If I'm at home, it's whatever beer I'm trying from the giant liquor store a few blocks from where I live.
In Summer I like drinking Iced Tea and Blue Ice potato vodka.
In Winter, I prefer Scotch. I'll also drink Absinthe.
It's not the classiest Scotch, but my overall favorite is the Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year.

This is my fav...
“Exclusively Matured In Selected Sherry Oak Casks From Jerez, Spain” On the nose there is Christmas cake, toffee, plump brandy soaked raisins and fruit cake. There are also loads of sherry and hints of cinnamon, heather and clove with oak notes in the back ground. A very nice collection of aromas that work well together. The taste is strong at first with sherry and cocoa along with the wood notes and the Christmas cake. Spicy. Loads of sherry, this is a big sherries dram and quite so. The finish is once again of sherry and the oak, it’s long and sweet at first but the finish soon changes to dryness and some hints of malt pop up. A really nice finish to be sure.
A big sherried whisky to be sure with good depth.

Umn.. I drink beer (microbrew, import, and cheap american).
I drink wine, Argentine Malbec is my favorite but a really good Cab can hit the spot
I like gin and tonnic.
I like all tropical rum and tequila drinks
I like scotch.
I will not do tequila straight. It takes a lot to get drunk, but I do not find it pleasant, so I have curtailed that quite a bit.

I tried what I was told was a good "starter" scotch at a restaurant, but didn't much like it. It was really boggy.

Beer - pilsner or lagers (or that style).
Spirits:
I tend to have a bottle of stoli or absolut in the freezer (the alcohol won't freeze, but the water content does, and those ice crystals make the remaining liquid thicker.
Otherwise, I like single-malt scotches or good Irish whiskys. That said, a good bottle can last me a couple of years. I have good friends who get me a bottle every year. I currently have a surplus.
I'll also throw back a snifter of good cognac occasionally.
