Another unbound list I call this the Daemon Factory as basically everyone takes Daemonolgy:
Eldrad 205
9 Farseers: 8 Witnessing, 3 Warding, 1 Spirit Stone of Anathlan 1055
4 Warlocks 140
Bastion: Void Shield
Everything sits in the Bastion and I get 35+d6 Warp Charge with 9 rerolls and you're not getting ANY powers off Ever! I would expect to get 5-6 summons off a turn against anyone without serious psychic protection. Remembering 1 Farseer gets to cast those WC3 summoning spells ad WC2, Whilst Eldrad can gain WC back with every cast. Even with strong Psychic defence I should be creating 3-4 new units a turn. If those units are Tzeentch that number increases as the game goes on. I feel this matches up well vs the Tzeentch version due to the increased Psychic defence and rerolls on psychic tests allowing me to use less dice to cast (coupled with the Stone and Eldrad).
What do you think?

You know that I can just spend a WC to ignore perils right? Even if I do kill myself I'm likely to be creating around 1000 points of stuff a turn, particularly if I'm getting perils. Perils is not even that bad as I'm Ld10 and have 3 wounds each. Automatically Appended Next Post: As for Tournaments banning it I find that pretty pathetic given that Screamerstars, Gravstars, GraVesastars, O'Vesastars, Seer Councils, Farsight Bombs and Beastpacks all regularly exist on the Tournament scene. I note they largely cut Escalation and SHA too yet allow all those Deathstars fine, its like they are afraid of anything new and just want people to bring the same old tired stuff.

and unless its an 'unbound' tournament, you won't ever play that in a tournament, ever.
and if everyone is bringing unbound lists, yours won't seem that scary. but its imaginative and silly.

Silliness aside, I think this is not a good idea or strategy. Granted, my experience obviously stems from 6th edition army lists, but locally, we drop Bastions on turn 1. At 1500 points, I recently brought 20 Brightlances and a Firestorm Redoubt. Put a Searchlight on the Firestorm and you are likely in a very bad way. This army was under the context that Escalation/Stronghold Assault/FW was allowed and that was my standard list.
The new AM hammer armor 14. Space Marines generally have this capability. The rest I'd have to see how 7th ed armies shape up.
I have a feeling, although unproven, that summoning lots of demons won't be quite as easy as folks think. If it does work, I believe realistically, you'd get one turn of it before you have been put into a bad position as your opponent is taking board control and potentially scoring VPs depending on missions.
The new psychic phase definitely needs to be played and figured out and I concede that you will likely stop most, if not all, psychic powers. However, you've left yourself extremely vulnerable in the other phases of the game.
However, play it out and see if it is viable. Let us know how it fares.

I rolled up a Psychic phase against a Friend assuming he had 9 lvls of Psyker (equivalent of 3 Wyrdvane squads and 3 lvl2 Primaris). In 1 turn I greated 2 GDs, 4 Heralds, 1 Elite and 2 10 man squads I lost 2 wounds on Perils and 2 Psykers than turned into GDs. I used 4 of my rerolls granted. But that's 1000 points of stuff created in 1 turn. By turn 5 tabling is almost guaranteed.
Some bad matchups though. AM that can kill the Bastion turn 1 (quite tough for them) then 6 Wyverns kill the squad in a turn.

But Drop Pod armies aren't competitive due to Tau murderising them. So not overly concern about that matchup. Though I I go first you don't get in melta range as I summon bubble Wrap and with me being in a corner it just gets harder for you. But first turn determines the winner.
DE is the other bad matchup as they should have enough lances and poison in range to take it all off in 1 turn. (8 Kabbies in Venoms and 6 Ravagers is 1500 too).

I'm thinking that unbound is designed to force competitive play into a smaller and smaller corner. And that being a dick like this will simply get you thrown out of stores. It's making being a douchecanoe feel even dirtier as a community. And we will probably see guys get thrown out of shenanigans a lot more unless both parties involve are cool with it. This is at least my hope. Oh God I hope that they get thrown out of stores as that would do a lot to benefit play for many people.
I am lucky, my meta seems to only have two scumbags and both of them I know and have met and will simply refuse to play for their unsportsmanlike conduct (interrupting matches to gloat and rabble rousing from the peanut gallery). I will be happy if that happens. Very very happy.

I'll be very surprised if tournaments allow this, and you'll make no friends from pickup games.
As a theory it works, in practise it seems like a glass cannon to me.

I dont think you understand something. Youve been posting on nearly every eldar competitive list about how big of a douche bag you have to be to play that list and how much of a horrible person we are for trying to win. Note this, and then please stop with the rants. All of these competitve lists are for competitive play. Not friendly play. competitive. Got it? Good.

Lots of negativity in this thread. I personally think this sounds hilarious. Expensive, as I'd have to buy a LOT of daemons for it to work, but I'd definitely want to try it. most of the friends I play with would probably be down with letting me try this out in casual games for the sheer ridiculousness of it. How long do you think that bastion would hold up against an unbound army of all Dominion squads maxed out on melta? Might be fun to play, but there are A LOT of counters to armies like this. Bastions don't last very long especially when they're all you've got to start.

I don't think this would work like that, but I might be missing something. The building rules say that only one infantry unit may occupy a building at a time so you would need to make all of that into one unit, and no unit can attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once per psychic phase. This means you could attempt each spell one time.
Also in the building rules it says that the main difference between buildings and actual vehicles is that they can't move. The building rules site the transport rules in basically every situation except for the psychic phase in which no rules are provided. The rules for using psychics in a transport state that only witch fire can be used. I don't know that building really have the same rules as transports, but there is definitely grey area here.

Yeah, from reading the rule book if you started them all in the same unit in the bastion you can only use witchfire powers nothing else. So you would have to start behind it, but then you have problems.

So he can have 1 farseer on top of the bastion as 1 unit can go inside and one on top. Wyverns would still wreck those farseers and I'm pretty sure a void shield can be dropped by some decent Russ shooting. With most D weapons still AP2, they are left with invuls unless a 6. I would say a balanced list could easily drop this army down with just being consistent. A flying circus can't cross that much board a turn, it would be interesting to see but mostly naked daemons would not get you very far.
