A few weeks ago i decided to start a guard army and after reading some giants ghosts novels i choose to theme them after Tantih first and only right now i have the battle force for IG (old one 5th edition) and a extra 10 man squad of guardsmen and 1 extra sentinel. [/color]

welcome to the guard, (and to dakka) sounds like you have a good start as the Ghosts are light infantry. I think the best way to represent them is to run Veteran squads with camocloaks, sniper rifles and flamers, and of course a commissar. Also here are some things to keep in mind when building your list ( from the back of the 3.5 edition dex ommiting the things that are irrelevant now).

"Preferred special weapon : Flamer
Preferred Heavy Weapon: Missile Launcher

Light infantry (so no carapace armor on the regulars or an absurd amount of tanks)
Priests
Sharpshooters (covered by the snipers and orders)
Veterans
Independent Commissar (HQ commissar, though you don't really want him on his own)
special equipment: cameleoline (covered by the vets with camo cloaks)"

from a modeling perspective I suggest you pick up some of the camo cloaks made by victoria miniatures.

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

"I will lay down my bones among the rocks and roots of the deepest hollow, next to the streambed.
The quiet hum of the earth's dreaming is my new song."

Where in NZ are ya? Anywhere near Kapiti?

Also Victoria Miniatures sells some awesome tanith models if you wanted to go really themey. They sell some nice capes too which you can add to your cadians.

But if you are near kapiti id be so up for a Praetorian vs Tanith game.

yea they look pretty close to them. I even made commissars that looked like gaunt using those bits. The hair doos and everything are all Tanithy.

If you are ever in wellington on a thursday afternoon and have time we have a pretty cool club you could come too for a quick game.

Sorry dude, I cant paint very well personally. But I find thinning the paints helps, along with washing the model and minor highlighting helps make your army stand out. But its waaay easier said than done.

My one tip though, as you are playing guard, is to paint fast. Just line up 10 men, paint one colour at a time on all 10 models until its done. Then grab the next ten. Do this sooner rather than later before its too late.

Autocannons are pretty good. in my opinion. I recommend that for your 3rd choice.

Are you doing platoons or veterans?

Yea braggs I think his name is... (been ages). Simple minded but buff from memory. My advice is to either use a rocket launcher arm but with the autocannon instead of launcher, or use the grenade launcher hands to sort of hold it (if that makes sense).
