Wow, just wow. €47.5 euro for a 10 man infantry squad? What in lords name is GW thinking?

And don't get me started on the fact that you can assemble them as 4 different squads because it really doesn't matter when you can only make 1 squad.

I don't give anything about bits and stuff when there are no models I can use them for. Maybe, just MAYBE you can make a second squad out of it if you buy a box of regular space marines, and even then you've paid what is essentially €80 for 2 10man squads.

Yup.

Personally, they reached my breaking point a few years ago.

I guess there are more people now reaching their breaking point with these awesome prices.

A single Battle Sister Squad is 49.70EU, for a 10-woman infantry squad. Worse? That is our only troop choice.

So we gotta buy lots. And lots. And lots.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

In fairness, it's cheaper than buying the two 5-man boxes it consisted off. It's actually a price drop for the same amount of product, not something to complain about.

LOL i knew !

I called it in the rumours thread, that someone would complain about this price drop...

GK SS were ~33$ a pop for 5 before, now its 60 for 10 (10% savings, even more through 3rd party retailers) and of course people complain...

its 25$ freaking dollars for a walking dead comic, thats worth MAYBE 1$ in paper and ink..

its 17$ per single model in attack wing

I would bring up that per model other games are just as if not more expensive, but that doesnt fit the "bash GW because we are all jaded" narritive that all those peopel are forging.

prices alway go up, always have, always will,

the gas for my car costs more now then before, the ammo for my skeet shooting costs more, the beer costs more, and so on and so forth...

a nice bottle of good scotch costs me about the same as 10 GK SS, one lasts a night or two of fun, the other lasts me for 4-5 solid days of painting fun, and limitless hours of gaming fun,

yet no one is complaining about jonny walker pricing people out of the market...

I usually get 20-30% savings.
Which I will now get on top of the 10%-GW saving.
Awesome.

The sick thing is that you seem to think that paying that price for 10 GKs is a good deal. In Canada, the 10-man GK squad costs $60. The 10-man Tactical Squad of SM costs $40. Why is there a 33% difference in the price for essentially the exact same squad? A price drop from "horribly overpriced" to just "very overpriced" is still not a deal and certainly nothing to be excited about.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

The title of the thread is "GK Strike squad pricing over the top?" and the answer is YES, it is over the top. Everyone here is jumping down the dude's throat for suggesting that this awful price isn't awful. It certainly is awful, regardless of how even more awful it used to be.

lol, i think i just priced out my GK army....and well its like alot, BUT, thats if it was bought at GW.....now i didnt by any of it there i bought all my kits off a pretty sweet dude online,

so price is as follows :

GW GK 5 man squad of PA GK's $39.50 canadian

same thing through my guy, $25

so a strike squad from GW is $70 so 9 dollars cheaper than if you were to buy 2 5 man squads.
but through my guy 2 squads would be $50. still cheaper.

GW is a landfill of doom and depression for people that enjoy the hobby.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it has 4. There's very little chance GW would make new sprues, and the part count is exactly double that of the five man set. Meaning you actually get double this
There is an array of weaponry and unit upgrades including Nemesis falchions, Nemesis force halberds, a Nemesis Daemon hammer, a Nemesis warding stave, two psycannons, a psilencer and an incinerator.

That's from the 118 part smaller box, the new box is 236, so you are just getting two lots of the smaller set.

I can't hear you over the sound of mek gunz costing $46 per five models, or $230 for a unit.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Lol, if that's the case why make a post at all? Since everything gw makes is over the top expensive. Stating the obvious doesn't attract a good discission.

In regards to the price of the 10 man squad I see nothing wrong with it. Its a bundle of 2 five man squads and there is a discount. In all fairness we should be praising gw for giving a discount.

Its still expensive in my opinion but Ihave the choice of not buying it.
