It honestly wouldn't surprise me for the US to jump to these conclusions, and then painting the blame on the Russians.
I would however, expect more communication between the aircraft and air force, but again, wouldn't be surprised if that stereo-typical American arrogance kicked in, and they gunned the plane down anyway, and removed the bodies (the plane disappeared near an American naval base, and so would be able to confirm, and support the idea that Russians shot it down).

I can see it now....Nids are now a collection of autonomous hive fleets there are multiple Hive Minds and they all war with one another in addition to everyone else. They speak to humans using telepathy, and they can now ally with Space Wolves as battle brothers, because reasons.

Utter conspiracy theory BS. There is no way it was shot down and covered up. Yes, it is possible a plane close to a US base could be shot down, but I don't believe that it would be covered up if it did happen. This is just the fantasy of someone whos entire qualifications seems to be "Once worked for an airline".

You do know that MH370 and MH17 are different airplanes, right?
MH370 was the one that disappeared in the Indian ocean.
MH17 was the one that was shot down by Ukrainian rebels.
No one claimed that the Russians had anything to do with the disappearance of MH370.

Well, we could go full "The Final Countdown" on this then, MH370 was caught in freak electrical storm that caused it to go FORWARD in time and place and made the plane appear over the Ukraine where the separatists, freaked by the plane's sudden and unexplainable materialization, shot it down.
This freak electrical storm was so freaky that it also caused the plane designation to change and all its passengers and crew to be replaced by completely different people as well... Queue Twilight Zone intro theme:

I always chuckle at these conspiracy theories. They are usually so far off base and rely on conjecture and lack of actual facts.
And it isn't as if we didn't already know it was lizard people working with stinger missiles paid for by the Bilderbergers that shot the darned plane down.

Even an overabundance of facts can't keep a nice conspiracy theory down. You just have to ignore some of the facts, or find some "expert" to explain why they're wrong. The official experts were clearly paid off, or the evidence planted by some faction that somehow gains from it.
