Hi all, this is the culmination of a project I've been planning and executing since around February. A desert themed Scottish Imperial Guard army, with kilted and bag pipe wearing troops from Victoria Miniatures, Chimera conversions from Chapterhouse, and well, just a ton of paint and time thrown at them. Enjoy!

The pictures were taken on an iPad last night, after a reasonable amount of vodka, so apologies that they are not studio quality.

There is not this idea.

Very nice!

You'll have to excuse my cluelessness, but what's the front vehicle with three wheels?

How about some close ups on the infantry. Are the Chimeras converted? Might just be the angle, but they look different to me. I like the sky shield too!

They are converted chimeras. There is a conversion kit you can buy which turns the standard kit from tracks to 6 wheels. Looks so much better IMHO!

Cheers guys! I'll try and dig out some close up shots later today, but for now, yes, the chimeras are indeed converted using the Chapterhouse Studios kit to swap out the sides. Be warned! This is NOT a beginners swap out part, the end result is good, but the conbersion kit quality is a little sketchy.

I've won one favourite army award witht hese guys before I finished the board, and there are two more tournaments before christmas. Fingers crossed for another win!

Since people are always commenting on the wheeled Chimeras, here are some close ups

Nice job bro! How did you do the wheeled chimeras?

Chapterhouse conversion kit. It's gnarly, not a particularly good conversion kit. But the end result is good. Not for beginners though.

Great work on the army... Wheeled Chimaeras look so much better than tracked version...

I'm curious, how did you convert the infantry? They look cool

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Well, you take all the money you have, and give it to Victoria Miniatures:

So that's where it came from. I'm so tempted to pick up some of the Arcadian range from there for my Cadian Imperial Guard. Must resist for the sake of my wallet (stating DE is expensive ya know)

Lovely work! The scheme is perfect.
And the chimeras make so much more sense, as they're the only aquatic vehicle iirc.

God, yes, the conversion kit looks soooo much better, that is the sort fo look the Taurox SHOULD have had. I was so dissapointed with the Taurox model, it's just dreadful... Interestingly, Victoria Miniatures also makes a wheel converison kit for the Taurox, to rescue it...

Most of these characters aren't used that commonly, but every regiment needs a Priest, Pysker, Commisars, and Enforcer with Cyber Mastiff.

Great army here. More close-up pics would be appreciated.

I really like the consistent look, the unique minis, the wheeled Chimeras, the desert camo scheme on the vehicles, the bases... Can't find much not to like!

Beautiful! Striking colors, excellent weathering, and the green glass is just icing on the cake.

Thankyou guys! I also made some custom objective markers for the army from some bits lying around. I thought it was fitting that a Highland regiment should be fighting over standing stones.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I found a folder I didn't realise I had of some other pictures, so I've uploaded those as well, here's a couple more close ups of the Valkyrie cockpit, and the interior. I have the crew all finished up and glued in there as well, but I must have taken this before I finished it up.
