As in, do they still have functional tearducts? Or have they been chemically altered to the point where this is simply impossible?

I don't know that anyone knows. I've never seen anything about them crying or tearing up, I've also never seen anything to indicate their tear ducts are removed.

It would be pretty silly for them to go out of their way and have the tear ducts removed, as they are fairly important for the eyes.
If anything, I could see their tears being mildly acidic while also serving as lubrication; their spit is acidic, so it isn't too far out there.

Once. Every loyalist (and even some traitor) marine shed a tear when Sanguinius and the Emperor died within an hour of each other.
Guilliman himself used an entire box of tissues. For Sanguinius, at least.

Not because it's a good film, but because they are 38 million years too late to obliterate Ryan Gosling and prevent the creation of unrealistic expectations of girls everywhere.

It would medically be a terrible idea to remove that function, as they'd be unable to flush grit or anything else from their eyes.
As the whole surgical process for Astartes is fairly well detailed, and this isn't mentioned, I think they're left alone.

Aye, there's no reason or sense in getting rid of tear ducts. As to whether marines cry for other reasons than dirt in their eyes, probably not. They're psychoindoctrinated killers on combat drugs (a monastic warrior order according to the propaganda) and there's really no reason for them to cry. Unless they really have such a lust for battle that they cry out of frustration if an enemy manages to escape.

Eh, that's sort of painting them too monotone. I imagine it varies per chapter, but generally yea, they are indoctrinated enough to not feel compelled to cry. However, I think they may weep on very monumental things- around the death of their primarch, emperor. Chapters/legions like the Emperors Children may just literally cry tears of joy during battle.

There's a handful of books that mention Space Marines crying. Openly weeping without shame. Sadly, I can't friggin remember which ones but I want to say the one where Logar gets put in his place by the Emperor, and maybe also something to do with Ultramarines... I just can't remember...

:/ nah. It's more like space marines suffer from a type of envy with guardsman; a type of repression when it comes to a certain aspect of nature....
They don't get to go home to Mrs. Guardsman to make little guardsmen - if you're lucky to survive the meat grinder that is and that's lightly putting it in 40k terms.
They get to go home with 'brothers' and that's it. Day after day.....

If go by actual fluff, they pity them for being incredibly weak and mortal. Astartes also don't care about relationships, because their brains are re-wired so killing gives them a rush of dopamine instead of sex.

Guardsmen use Baneblades. Astartes have Battle Barges.
The only thing to be envious of is that lucky Navy bastard in charge of Luna-turned-deathstar battlestation in the Sol System.
