Though honestly, can't quite relate to the models themselves. rather glad I got myself the BoP marines instead, they look better.

Magnus was splintered into many pieces, some barely equal to human, others of power exceeding Ahriman, or at least comparable.

In the Black Library Ahriman trilogy, Ahriman tries to reverse the Rubric, taking him back to Prospero and ultimately to the Planet Of Sorcerors, and while he fails to undo the Rubric, he does allow Magnus to reunite. So, yes, at this point (assuming the trilogy is part of the timeline now) he's probably the most powerful non-deity in the galaxy.

I'm guessing you missed the books released previous to Wrath of Magnus.

Curse of the Wulfen advanced the fluff by bringing Wulfen in and making the Fenris system become a number of daemon worlds (and set up the events for Wrath of Magnus).
Traitor's Hate and its Blood Angel counterpart re-advanced the fluff about the 13th Black Crusade from "about to happen" to "it's happening".
They advanced the small bit of fluff about the Baal system being threatened by Tyranids in Leviathan and Exterminatus
They advanced the fluff about both the Tau and Raven Guard by killing off Aun'va (the most powerful of the the Tau Etherals) and the Raven Guard Chapter Master and promoted Shrike from 3rd Company Captain to Chapter Master Kayoun and Mont'ka.

They've been doing this for a while.

Sweet, does that mean we could possibly see the return of The Wolf

He said he would return when its Wolf Time...well with Magnus leading another seige in Fenris...this could be it

Abandon’s nascent 13th Black Crusade whose opening moves were described in Traitor’s Hate will be getting into full swing in 2017 and will be breaking out of the Cadian Gate and setting course for Terra.
Magnus the Red is only the beginning, look for some other Daemon Primarchs to gather their legions and follow the Warmaster onto the tabletop with minis.
They WILL be opposed by certain Loyalist Primarchs who will make an unexpected return with minis to boot!
Look for more Imperial sub-factions being added to the game. Chaos must be stopped at all costs.

It would seriously go against the theme of the setting. In 40K Imperium is a crumbling, dying mess, things like Primarchs are barely remembered myths. Having shiny superheroes of the legends return would seriously damage that theme. There is already a whole separate game in which people can use them if they're so inclined.

I can come up with two scenarios of Primarch returning that would not massively annoy me.
1) A Primarch returns, but is promptly killed by the Inquisition and the whole thing is covered up to maintain status quo.
2) Russ returns, but is an insane drooling mutated monstrosity. He might have some tiny glimmer of his former self remaining, which would allow him to intervene in some dramatic moment and then die or vanish again.

the lore hasn't been updated since like the 80s man people are getting bored, i understand where your going at

but people want to see massive change, and if that involves bringing some of the primarchs back then so be it

I don't. I love 40K setting and I don't want to see it changed.

And of course you can have plot progression without massively altering the setting.

well, I think its going to happen, if those rumors are true...they were right about Magnus coming back and attacking Fenris...so i assume the others are correct

I guess the best bet is to "wait and see" im sure GW will do right with the primarchs
