It looks to me like it wouldn't hurt to expand the sections of Age of Sigmar, especially the one area that has army lists and rules and tactics shovee together. This really can make it hard to navigate posts or get responses when people keep updating other posts.

Previous discussion on the topic (with mod participation) can be found HERE. What it boils down to is if there is enough discussion to justify the additional forums, followed by if Lego has enough time to implement the changes...

I could at least see the merit in separating general discussion and background.
And probably quarantining Rules Discussion in case it goes the way YMDC does.

Does anyone actually discuss the background? I think there is more a case for dropping the "Background" part of the title than add a new subsection.

I’ve been putting my background posts in the general discussion thread, for what its worth.
As I stated in the thread that Ghaz linked to, I feel that Battle Reports getting their own section is a waste.

We took a crack at this in the mod section, and this is where we ended up:
AoS War Council - For discussing rules, army lists, tactics, and battle reports. Share your knowledge and experience here!
AoS Background - Enter the Mortal Realms! Discuss the perilous setting, mighty heroes, and monstrous villains of Age of Sigmar.
AoS General Discussion - For everything else AoS-related, post here!
Originally, we had 4 subforums, but that would require a change by legoburner, whereas the above would just repurpose what we already have. It does away with the solo battle reports section in favor of a Background one, which I think would be at least a bit more popular!
Having a separate rules questions section was also something we considered, but there just doesn't seem to be the post rate on rules queries for it. Here's the draft we had for that version:
But note this spoilered version is a lot less likely to happen since we need to tackle lego for it (so it couldn't really happen "on its own" ).
Thoughts definitely appreciated!

I'd change up the order on the three sections, putting General up top, as that will probably be the most popular, followed by War Council , then Background. That's just my little nitpick, otherwise I think its great, thanks!

Yeah, there really hasn't been a whole lot of rules disputes in AoS's short life. Main dispute is people whinging(right or wrong) about whatever's dominating the top spots in tourney's for that years GHB lifespan.

I would agree that battle reports could be lumped in with lists and tactics under one board but I'm not sure what subject we have left over that would constitute the 3rd board.
Presently the General board has a lot of open ended discussion that might tangently belong on one of the other boards (how do Ironjaws behave mechanically, how does AoS differ from 40k mechanically, speculation on future releases, etc).
A dedicated rules board might work as a lightweight YMDC, but I don't think there's as much contention with AoS's rules.
I personally would prefer a whole board for discussing lore and background stuff but if number of subforums is limited to 3 I think one for general discussion and lore, one for rules and tactics, and one for lists and battle reports would be the ideal breakdown.

I'd personally support a board specifically for background. A lot of lore discussion tends to get mixed in with general topics and can make it difficult to get a conversation flowing.

The new background section is up!

Would be great to see some more fluff and setting discussion now that we've got it (that's actually something I'm really interested in, myself, having gotten sucked back in a bit due to the awesomeness that is Warhammer Underworlds in the same setting).

Can I make a suggestion that the 'AoS War Council' forum be renamed the 'AoS War Council and Rules Questions' forum. Still seeing rules questions posted in the AoS General Discussions forum.
