I think Longshot and others have mentioned this list before.  I figured I'd give it a go. 

1750 Drop pod with apothecaries list:

157 - Librarian (terminator armor, fear and fury)
242 - 4 man terminator command squad, drop pod, 2 x assault cannons, and tankhunters

285 - 5 man termies with 2 x assault cannons, drop pod, and tank hunter

230 - 8 man drop pod, 2 x plasma gun, vet srgt, power fist, apothecary

230 - 8 man drop pod, 2 x plasma gun, vet srgt, power fist, apothecary

230 - 8 man drop pod, 2 x plasma gun, vet srgt, power fist, apothecary

230 - 8 man drop pod, 2 x plasma gun, vet srgt, power fist, apothecary

145 - 6 man drop pod 2 x melta gun

1749 total

I play this list that you get a save from the apoths every turn, both yours and your opponent's.  If I get questioned, I point out that the codex uses language of  "during your turn" "your opponent's turn" and "every turn".  I point out the GT FAQ, and then I ask my opponents how often they get re-rolls for mastercrafted weapons?   Most people I know use the re-roll from mastercrafted weapons during every assault phase.  I just point out that the language for Master Crafted weapons is the same as the Apothecary's.


One other interesting question this list provokes though, is whether the Librarian benefits from tankhunter for Fury of the anceints?  I think so, because Tank Hunter affects the AP roll.

Does anyone think more power armor instead of termies would be a better choice?  C + C welcome.

I do not believe so as it is a Psychic Power and not a weapon per se.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

I don't know. It says any hit and then puts in paratheses 'any weapon'. We're going to run into a lot of problems if you say psychic powers aren't a weapon. For instance, you only get saves against 'weapons' pg 24. I'll give up the tank hunting if you give up any armor saves /sarcasm/ <sarcasm>

Besides, who says a psychic power isn't a 'weapon'?   Watch any of the X-men movies and you'll believe psychic powers are weapons.

The other good thing, is that it means you can't use psychic powers ("may not fire weapons" pg44) when locked in close combat. Which means you get rid of people using Fear in close combat as well. </sarcasm>

I think it looks pretty solid. 16 S7 rending shots and a throwaway meltagun squad for tanks, a crapload of bolters and plasma for antimarine/termie.

I'd hate to be the Lysander wing player who drew you in the first round.
