Ok having a bit of a dilema with my current list Do i take a unit of warriors or a fly tyrant for extra synapse?

Ok the core fo the list which i am pretty happy with at the moment is this

1500 Pts - Tyranids Roster - Unnamed

1 Hive Tyrant @ 190 Pts
Enhanced Senses Toxin Sacs Scything Talons Venom Cannon; with
1 Tyrant Guard

6 Genestealers @ 120 Pts
Extended Carapace

6 Genestealers @ 120 Pts
Extended Carapace

16 Hormagaunts @ 160 Pts

16 Hormagaunts @ 160 Pts

16 Gaunt Brood @ 96 Pts
Fleshborer

16 Gaunt Brood @ 80 Pts
Spinefists

1 Ravener @ 40 Pts
Rending Claws; Scything Talons (x1)

1 Ravener @ 40 Pts
Rending Claws; Scything Talons (x1)

1 Ravener @ 40 Pts
Rending Claws; Scything Talons (x1)

1 Carnifex @ 148 Pts
Barbed Strangler; Venom Cannon enhanced senses

2 Zoanthrope @ 130 Pts
synapse Creature; Warp Blast;

this all comes to a nice round 1324 points

Now my real dilema is what to do with my last points choice A. The fly tyrant

1 Hive Tyrant @ 161 Pts
Enhanced Senses Toxin Sacs Winged; Twin-linked Devourer (x2);

or choice B, a warrior brood

4 Warriors @ 173 Pts
Enhanced Senses Extended Carapace Toxin Sacs adrenal gland +1 int Rending Claws ; Deathspitter; 1 warrior with lash whips and venomcannon

Both fit in under budget, and i'm quiet torn between the two. no w the fly tyrant will probably do more damage adds some fast synapse for my hormagaunts and rav's. On the other hand it has less wound than the warriors and getting up close and personal witht he enemy will also limit its life expectancy.

On the other hand the warriors add some extra charge a bit of light anti tank, thoguh they don't add to my synapse coverage which is already pretty good on the baseline.

Other consideration is to swap a rav for another tyrant gaurd for the walking tyrant

p.s feel free to comment on the rest of the list if the urge takes you

Go with the Flyrant: Less wounds but better save and higher T. Mobile objective taker/ problem solver. Dliutes fire for your other biggies. He's a fast synapse creature that can keep up with the hormagaunts and raveners.

Give him implant attack to help with pesky multiwounders.

snoogums: "Just because something is not relavant doesn't mean it goes away completely."

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

1) Go with the flying Tyrant. 4 Warriors, despite having double the wounds, are much less durable than a Hive Tyrant because they die from basic weaponry (bolters, etc). The flying Tyrant also is capable of doing much more damage (in this case, by shooting) than the warriors.

If you were going to take Warriors, Deatspitters are terrible for their expensive points cost. Devourers do far more damage. But why even take ranged weapons if you're not going to take +1 BS and +1S on those warriors? Its all very strange, but definitely forget about the warriors and go with the Tyrant.

2) Give the Carnifex +1W. It is so worth the points.

3) I believe you have too many un-upgraded Hormagaunts. You either need to use Hormagaunts as an un-upgraded speed bump unit or you need to upgrade them with +1WS, +1S, +1I and make them a shock unit. You have too many for a speed bump (stick with one unit) and no upgrades for the shock role.

Besides that, it looks pretty good.

this is a bit of an aside, but are tyranid warriors at all worth the points? I was playing with the codex and under no combinations that i was seeing could i put a useful and points effective unit together.

i didnt spend too much time on it, but does anyone know of a good warrior combo? i love the models, but cant seem to justify their points cost.
