Pretty weak in my opinion, but his forehead is intriguing. Is that a third eye, or a bony ridge ala the Tau Ethereal caste? Probably not the later considering the whole Xenology Eldar/Q'orl/Tau connection, but since when did Slann have a third eye? 

From the designer's notes:

That's the most powerful dumpy frog that can ever field in the game.

I would buy it. If for nothing else than the have a non WHFB slaan for 40k. It has a lot of sci fi potential.

Since FW is going all out on making odd 40k varients for IG and such, it would be nice if they could put together a 40k slaan warband.

Those would sell very well. Use some eldar rules (the current eldar fluff is more or less based on rogue trader slaan fluff), and you have a kill team that has some style.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't write home about it.

Many reptiles have a so-called 'third eye', usually covered by skin, that allows sunlight to reach their pineal gland.
I think there used to be European folklore about toads with jewels in their foreheads, as well. But my folklore is pretty rusty these days.
At any rate, there are two explanations for the lil' bump on his forehead.

While I don't care much about the actual model, it is nice to see a variant pose available at last. The amphibian buddha is looking a bit tired after all this time.

How do you know it is a male Slann?  Maybe the girl Slann are haveing that time of the month wich last for 2 to 5 eons.   It also explains the lack of Slann babies and their general Al Bundyness

I made my slaan have a third eye like 2 1/2 years ago. He was meant to be corrupted by tzeentch..

Its a good idea, and makes them seem more alien and less frog.

Well, someone's nicked his floating rock platform thingy, so I'd be pretty upset under those circumstances, too.  A Slann is not designed for a pedestrian existence.
