I am after a right down-and-nasty 2,000 point army for large-scale Cityfight games. Its for a tournament being held in my area, am expecting fairly large numbers of people to be there.

THere is also a grudge match - a 4-way battle between me and 3 other guys (see end of post).

This is what I came up with, any input would be most appreciated.

Penitent Engines: 2 Penitent Engines.

2000

80 Models; 28 Flamer Weapons; 11 Faith

The basic plan:

Priests join the Celestains.

Celestians advance down the centre.

These are flanked by 2x Sister Squads each side

On extreme flanks run the Penitent Engines

Canoness flies up behind Celestains to give aid

Seraphim jump over buiding and Divine Guidance their Flamers/ Have Meltabombs to take out wandering Dreadnoughts, etc.

Retributors sit in a good fire position, raining fire upon exposed enemy.

So, what do you think of the list?

Its for 8ft x 8ft Cityfight board, Grudge Match enemies are 2x Black Templar and Tau. Possibility of Imperial Guard superseeding one of the Tau armies. All are tooled-out for CoD, as it is a fight for a final placing in an un-ended tournament.

Any help that could be offered from Veterans would be most appreciated.

I would change the following:

Replace the retributors with a nexorcist. Normally I would say using it in COD is not worth it, but you are playing on a 8x8 table, so that is an exception (there is always room to maneuver vehicles somehow to get a claen LOS). If you expect a larger than normal proportion of infantry, then stick with the retributors. Only you have any idea what to expect there.

I would even recommend an immolator or two for the celstians if your going to take them. On a board such as that, with no knowledge of what scenario is being played, you will need a transport option somewhere in the list. I strongly reccommend droppoing 2 sisters from each celestian squad (so the priest can enter the trasnport too) and adding a plain immolator with EA.

This will also protect the running sisters from shortranged firepower until they get stuck in the ruins for burnination.

Other than that, the list does look quite good. I would use it.

Good luck and may your flames become the Burning Wrath of the Emperor.
