Having the new eldar codex in hand, a question popped out right away. I always liked to field 2 blocks of guardians in my army with warlocks in the squad. The new codex says that by having a farseer it allows me to take 3+ warlocks. Does this mean that if i decide to use warlocks, I have to take at least 3?? After throwing two warlocks with the guardian squads, does this mean I have to find a home for this extra warlock???? Can i just throw him with the farseer as a one man retinue? It just seemed weird to me. The fluff in the codex goes on about how rare they are but then makes you take at least 3....

I hope to have such a death--lying in triumph upon the broken bodies of those who slew me.

I wont get my codex till probably monday but I believe this is just referring to a retinue (or seer council if you like) to accompany the farseer. The warlock options with the squads are entirely seperate.

You don't detach Warlocks from the Farseer's retinue onto Guardian squads anymore. The Guardian squad entry allows you to add a Warlock for +Xpts. Good gaming!
