Hey everyone, I'm a long time lurker here, but have never really had anything worth posting. Recently though (Well, relatively speaking... I'm notoriously slow at getting anything finished) I have been working on a force of Crone World Eldar. With a few models finally finished I thought that I might post them.

I meant to take some pictures of some more models than this, but my camera ran out of battery. So, heres pictures of just a couple of my new Crone World Eldar army.

Basically the fluff is that an arrogant Autarch led an expedition to the Crone Worlds to recover Eldar artifacts, but while they were there tragedy befell. They have returned hideously mutated and aided by daemons to plague the galaxy and attempt to bring about the destruction of thier Craftworld.

Due to having no base of operations, they have to use scavenged weapons and equipment on the battlefield, so are armed with all sorts of weaponry from all different races.

Well, without further ado here are some pictures.

The paint is a little thick in a couple of places, I know, but I'm more of a converter than a painter anyway (Odd for someone so poor with greenstuff!), and my photography isn't the greatest, but hopefully you can get an idea of what I was aiming for.

With any luck I can get some new camera batteries soon, so that I can put up pictures of my other finished models.

I like the concept and the models. I want to see the rest!

The painting isn't amazing (mostly looks thick, as you said) but the conversions are great, and I especially like the concept. I don't think i've ever seen an eldar army like this.

I too like the concept, but I have a problem with a few things:

The paint scheme is a bad idea that bone/white color isn't executed well and almost makes the models look unpainted. The paint job itself also looks rushed or just sloppy which doesn't fit in stylistically with the idea of Eldar (even fallen ones).

Also, it's a little wierd to see "Eldar" with weapons that aren't stylistically designed. Why would Eldar (even fallen ones) be using Mon-keigh weaponry? It just doesn't look right to me.

I really do like the design of the second model. Its wierd and unpredictable and looks very much like I'd imagine a Chaos Eldar would.

I would definitely like to see more of the army.

The Hammer

Great concept, mediocre execution. The converting is fine and the choice of colours is visually appealing. However, your details and highlighting aren't so hot. Technically these minis suck, but that doesn't diminish the idea, which is great. As far as Eldar with slug throwers: go for it. What better mark of the warp's twisting influence?

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

wow, Eldar with gas mask. that's a new one. nice concept and I've always been a fan of the 3rd editon reapers. but the machine guns do look wierd. try using dark Eldar parts.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Like I said, I'm a horrible painter, but I deliberately chose a color scheme with a lot of bone (A color I'm very poor at painting) in order to challenge myself. Hopefully after painting a pile more of these guys I'll start to improve a bit. But I'll never get anywhere if I never start anywhere, right?
As to the non-Eldar weaponry, it was meant to show that they have no real base of operations, and no way of resupplying thier ammunition. After their stocks run out, a mon-keigh gun is better than no gun, right?
As to using Dark Eldar parts, I already am. In fact I think the head, torso and arms on that second model are all Dark Eldar originally, and his gun is a trimmed down splinter rifle. The backpack on the Exarch I think came from an Incubi model too. I've just been using pieces from all through my bits box on these guys, its been really fun.

I like the conversions, they have a nice shape to them, nothing seems really awkwardly balanced. Even though it's heavy looking, it's spread in a reasonable way.
