Beltayn beholds the bullet; a piece of art as far as he was concerned. Beltayn turned his gaze to Ludias and smiled, it was something Beltayn was not accustomed to doing.

"You never disappoint do you Ludias?" He said. "That's all fine in theory but lets see if it works."

Beltayn crawled back to the top of the hill with Ludias in tow, he pinged the nearest turret with his rangefinder.

"Think you can hit that from here?" Beltayn asked part mockingly, part knowing the answer, and part wondering if he was right.

"On a larger target maybe. But ill have to hit the exact centre of the mounting bracket for the bullet to have the best chance of doing its work. Lets find out shall we?"

Ludias looks at the reading on the finder. 800 metres.
He loads a white round into his rifle, a shot he invented long ago that releases a fine trail of lightly radioactive dust behind it that clumps together in a line. Thus showing the fire arc of the shot. The bullet was tuned to fire at a distance set by twisting the base of the head every click added anouther ten metres to the shot. Ludias twisted for a while counting carefully 790 metres. Then he twisted a smaller dial 9 times so that the bullet would desintegrate a metre before it reached 800 metres. He loaded the bullet carefull and took a quick wind reading and a gradient of the curvature of the planet. At this kind of distance even something as small as air humidity would affect the shot. Aware that the air was dry parched and quite warm he surmised that the bullet would actually gain a couple of metres so he adjusted his aim accordingly so that the loaded bullet would fly just over the turret if he was correct.

He took the shot.

The bullet arced in a flat trajectory through the air and the lightly radioactive dust left behind showed up in his hud. He watched the arc and was satisfied as it whizzed just over the tip of the turrets mounting bracket.

Ludias sent the image across to Bel's rangefinder and he got the readings, feeding them into his masks auto proccessor he relaxed his arms allowing his suit to do the job for him. As if on its own accord the suit moved his arms into the rough area of the shot and he fine tuned the shot himself and then looked at Bel' who nodded once.

Ludias fired the round.

Watching though his mask he saw the bullet move through the air and its path was tracked on his masks hud. He knew as soon as he pulled the trigger that it would work but he liked to check his work anyway.

A small spark could be seen on the turret he had chosen.

And then all hell broke loose.

Kais stood, at the bridge of his massive command ship, with Hunter at his side, ever loyal, as he stared out towards the Eye of Terror. He turned, to see the massive fleet of ships that had come with him on this journey, and finally, sent an order to them all.

"The Chaos forces have a big line of defense there, quite hard to break through. Very nice one actually, they should be proud."

Kais turned towards Hunter, and knew that under his helmet, the Marine was grinning, anxiously.

"Let's break it all up. With everything we have."

Target acquired!

Every turret began to swivel madly around firing at anything that moves, explosions consume the area around the fortress while small blasts also are created by the Turrets while leaving the Chaos marines and Cultists in utter chaos and confusion. Soon turrets turn their fire on each other causing further confusion and chaos leaving any survivors in a dazed state.

But the end of this was not near.

The turrets soon took aim at the Out-Posts and guard towers within their range crushing them under a hail of fire before shutting down completely, everything was quite and nothing moved.


"But my friend we must learn off their tactics and the fortress it's self, I would happily infiltrate it for you commander."

Hunter swings his rifle over his back and laughs in a heavy ascent and proceeds to studies his power sword which he deactivates.


"Much child but our time draws to a close and the theaters applause will be great indeed as such our grand game of play and roles in the galaxy will be at a end and we will be the quite Dead."

"Be my guest Hunter," I chuckle. "But remember to relay the information back. Stay in contact."

Me?

Hunter leaves the bridge and heads to the hanger where he boards his Drop-Ship and begins to fly towards the planet ready to assist Shas'O.

(Just on a side note have you noticed that dakka has changed alot recently?)

Ludias looks at the carnage with mild amusement.
"Well that went better then I thought it would."

He gently slids down the other side of their rise and falls into a crouch. He carefully stalks his way up the side of the next one and then aims though his scope searching the walls for anywhere with less than adequate defenses.

A waste dispose tunnel seems to be undefended and is built into the wall of the fortress, the burning remains of a turret sit next to it with only its Tri-Pod mount left while stray squads of Cultists flee from the burning wasteland around the fortress in fear of the mad turrets.

The Tech-lord slammed the Sergeant into the wall and hissed like a snake before he slowly crushed the head of the incompetent sergeant with a dark hate that burned in his soul, the sergeant screamed in pain and terror.

"I hope you realise that this could cost us our plans and my soul, you shall die now and you're screams will please me"

The sergeant fell his skull crushed and his soul consumed by a dark unseen force, it feasted on his soul. The Tech-lord raised his arm and brought up a holo-screen of the base and began studying the attack.

"Amazing but soon we will advance shall we not my children, we shall indeed and they will die."

The vile Tech-lord pressed the commands for the turret production lines and set his Servitors to work.

"Okay then, Hunter, this is a just a quick check that our communications are in check. Do you read me?"

Can you give me the thing again because i cant find it.

"I'm sorry Lotus but all in good time when the stage is set but now I must plot and scheme. I wonder if you're Sniper will survive the pearls of the fortress ha."

There are several feral howls in the distance as Daemonic hounds approach the crash site, a large tall beast with red scales and long white horns bows to a blue crystal which shakes and sparks and rises into the air before producing a blue glow.

"Kill...them...all...Alpha Leader...now"


The Crystal drops with a shudder as the Pack of daemons leaves....


"This is Sniper One I am currently in the planets atmosphere. Over."

Hunters drop-ship begins its coarse towards the planet

"I can hear you. As soon as you are on the surface, provided you haven't been spotted, begin to scout the area for any Chaos structures and designs."

Yes but I suggest you do not follow them, he can't hide forever and they are searching for snipers.

The Stone glows and shatters into thousands off pieces as several Hounds approach and begin to hiss and snarl at the assassins, each a horrid combination of lizards and feral beasts which have claws or blades that shimmer in the sunlight. The leader approaches, a servant of Khorne which barks orders to its pack. The beast then charges forward with bloodthirsty rage, roaring and hissing as it nears the Assassins.


"I have arrived, preparing several objectives before contact with enemy forces and other hostiles. My sniper is primed and ready for combat like I am. Happy hunting Commander Shas'O, I've also called for some off my Xenos friends to help. Hunter Out."

Hunter exits his Drop-Ship landed in a concealed location and cleans his sniper before moving out.

Needed some time to get away from you guys so I took a little vacation to the beach... jk jk, at least about the you guys part, I did go to the beach though and I would have been on here but I had no computer access so...

Beltayn stays in formation with Ludias as the two survey the damage. He spots the drain pipe easily and sees that the defenses are now laid bare.

"There...that should provide a way in, that bullet of yours did wonders, I doubt they'll see us as we stalk in." With another moment of thought, Beltayn stands up to a crouch, his rifle still held in his delicate hands.

"If we're getting in it should be now while they are still reeling. there's lots of cover out here, don't be timid to get creative." He said as he stalked off.

Lotus charges her animus and ready's her gauntlet while the dogs."oni prepare you need to be on the defensive role of protecting vindicare while he fires. I will take the role of offence. I know oni i know you want that role but you dont want to die do you?" He growls a little. " thats what i thought."
