THanks Shas, ya it will get a 1/16" hardboard base when I get the saw out and get around to cutting wood. The Rivet Tower needs a base cut too.

Awesome pics Vik!
This morning, I am playing with an idea to use 4 coffee can lids for the floors of another tower.

Thanks Shas!
@Skalk- Yep, I've used it before, it's the same soft plastic that they use for 1/72 scale figures, good CA is needed to really hold it together. The same applies to the soft plastic used for the coffee lids.
@Fifty- no these are cheap spring clamps from Menards

Thanks Vik. I have already contemplated a spiral staircase, I even figured out how to do it (involves cutting another assload of identical parts) but decided just to go for an open floorplan. I figured whatever machinery that this tower used to offer maintenance access to has long been scrapped and sold. See, you can always make up fluff to justify laziness
Oh and what you see on the cutting mat there is all the styrene tube I have left (not even enough to make the third floor supports identical to the second 2 inches short!) oh well, this is all an excersize in using up what styrene I have left before ordering/getting more.

Yep, that is what I was going to do, use a central post and have the spiral stairs attached to that, but I'll save that idea for another project. It would take up too much room in this 6" tower. Using ladders in Necromunda is just as easy.
edit: oh I see what you mean, attach doors to the big pipe. Hmmm maybe I'll use that idea when I get to the Outlanders lift building.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
This is kind of what I had in mind for a spiral staircase though
However, each stair would have to be separated by enough vertical space to fit the thickness of a 25mm base (with basing) on each step. Maybe some other time, I dunno.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
At elevation, it would look something like this.

Thanks KingCraker Much appreciated! I just hope my blog shows anyone reading that as complex as it all may look once you break it down into it's simplest steps. it's really just a collection of basic modeling techniques. And repetiveness.

Oh yeah! Tunnels and Vents! I forgot about those, thanks for reminding me. Maybe I should build up seperate terrain peices to represent tunnels and vents so you can move them around? I'll have to build a Mario warp zone pipe just for you!

I saw this type of spiral staricase http://uniquebriquetechniques.blogspot.com/2007/08/spiral-staircase-by-nathan-proudlove.html done in LEGO, and wondered how the idea could be put to terrain.

If all else fails, try 3-in-1 advanced craft glue. It is basically hot glue that is liquid in the bottle (no heat required). As for painting soft plastic, if the part flexes, it'll snap the paint right off with regular paint, so you need to use Krylon spray primer specifically for plastics (it says for plastics on the can), it has an etching effect that really bonds it to the plastic. When cured, the paint coat is actually somewhat flexible. So no more flaked off paint.

I can't help but look at this (yes top is too tall..will fix ...not glued yet) and think it looks like an electronic drumhead pad.
So I cristen thee...Beebop Drums Tower!
Not as much honor as a Gunny Harker Golden Demon-quality painted and given your name, but my way of showing appreciation for such a gesture nonetheless.

Aww Shucks...
...and now for something completely different.
Don't Be A Fool!!
like me. On the left is a cheap steel Taiwan built pipe cutter $4. On the right is a "hobby grade" pipe cutter $16.
The cheap one cuts better and cuts bigger diameter pipes. Look around before buying some so-called "hobby grade" stuff. I nsome cases.
I disagree with my own theory when talking about clippers though. Xuron clippers are hands-down the best-made clippers on the planet. They are the ones sold by Gale Force 9 http://www.thewarstore.com/product5184.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> http://www.thewarstore.com/product5184.htmlgames and also marketed to model railroaders.

@ Rogue That is the mystery of the Underhive, you can only imagine what the structures were originally used as, they are ancient and forgotten. Like the technology they were used for.
@Vik Lol ..yer a nut
@CT I saw the different colored stuff, never thought of that. The plastic spray works though, I've used it.

Thanks Scarper, ver much appreciated. Unfortunately I only have six of the shell casing things, so I won't be able to go too crazy, but it is a good idea. I have been thinking about pipework walkways, but Armorcast already makes such great ones, it may be cheaper to buy theirs. I don't know.
