I was thinking about this after seeing my friend's list...he's placed in several RTT's with Godzilla Nids, so I was thinking....the Eldar Avatar and Wraithlords are Ultramannish...

Run the Avatar and 3 Wraithlords, with a couple large squads of Guardians near the Avatar, and follow up with some shining spears or aspect warriors....Lots of targets to shoot at, and should be effective. I'd throw in a seer council on jet bikes with singing spears...

Thoughts?

Too slow, too few threats. The Nids list works well because nothing is easy kills, its all high toughness, decent strength guns, and great saves. This Eldar list has 4 hard targets, and around 1100 points of other things that you can score VPs off of. I would say the list would have problems in snagging objectives at times too, but thats hard to say until you write the list. Theoryhammer is finicky enough to base strategies off of army design ideas.

I think you'd take a big step towards VP denial, and scary threats with jetbike guardians and Harlequins. Their small arms fire can be neutralized with hiding the jetbikes, and keeping the Harle's out of range/sight with VoT.

You're not the first to think of this one. The other guy got plenty of comments on the thread linked below:

My 2000 point list is alot different from his.

Avatar

3 wraithlords ( at first I had them with just brightlances, but I think the BL/ML combo works well now that I think about it.)

2 units of jetbikes with warlocks

1 farseer on jet bike either with warlocks on bikes and singing spears or on his own.

2 units of shining spears

2 10 man guardian squads or if the farseer is on his own, 2 20 man squads with scatter lasers.

Its got fast elements that can tie up enemy lascannon squads while the wraithlords and avatar march forward. It can be fearless.

I've seen a friend run a Nilla Kids list with 2-3 genestealer broods, 3 Fexes, 2 Hive Tyrants and 2 gaunt hordes and 2 zoanthropes, and he's done well in tournaments. Plus its a fun army for him, and I've always enjoyed playing him.

The wraithlords and avatar are a bit more durable then the Fexes, but have better weapons, and fewer wounds. The jet bikes are faster then the gaunts, and the shining spears are just as deadly, but fewer in number. But also more durable.

The guardians can use their firepower against hordes.....sure its BS 3 but its alot of shots.

I also have a list without the guardians, but with infiltrating scorpions.....but they are totally dependant on the mission.
