http://leagues.privateerpress.com/ http://www.privateerpress.com/docs/leagues/League_Rules.pdf I'm going to try to join and stay in one of these. I guess the Escalation campaign was a precursor to this 4 season league. It has rules for a number of things that I managed to download earlier before their site went kaput. Things of interest: The League can grant weather conditions to weekly games (nifty!) but both players can agree to sit out the weather and not have them apply (bogus). Boasts are challenges players can give themselves as a way to earn extra league points (the points by which standings are determined). These are self-handicaps or restrictions. I can't see myself ever pulling one of these off, but I guess that's why they're gambles. An example of a boast: Blood & Guts-- No feats. I don't know if I could win that way. Maybe with one of the "lighter" feats, or playing in a game with another player who also declares Blood & Guts.

Also: Warjack bonds are in effect for the league If you want to keep the bond you can't change either the warcaster or the warjack for any game after that.

You can easily win a no-feat game depending on your caster - Vlad of the Khador faction, for example. Or Goreshade. For other casters, it might be trickier - definitely a challenge to win with Deneghra or Sorsha in such circumstances.

I think that I've used the Coven's feat once. If I were going to make thta boast, Coven would be the force for me.

Yeah the Coven have it real easy. They usually go for the same quick caster kill anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if you saw "No Feat' and "Kill you Dead in 4 turns or less" Boasts together.
I am really looking forward to this league series, both as a player and a Pressganger. It is a traditional format with fresh innovations that keep every game different and challenging. And trust me when I say the prize support <medals and patches> look AMAZING!!!

Protectorate?
I guess if someone goes for Iron Man (only warcaster and jacks) I can declare no feat Feora. I'll need to think about it some, though.

There can be only one Iron Man... and that is Karchev the Terrible. Oh and Darius. Amon is pretty effective. Coven can handle a few jacks. Every faction <even Mercs with Magnus> has a "jack caster." They have it easier to accomplish this than anyone else. There are a few others who could do a good job. Old Witch would be fun with just her, Scrappy, a Behemoth, and as many Kodiaks and Destroyers one can fit in.

Amon loses out without their choir, though.
Old Witch seems surprisingly fun to try.

No, Darius is THE man for Iron Man. Full stop. Karchev has nothing on this guy and Amon is laughable compared to either. Coven can handle lots of nodes, but tends to get ripped apart fairly quickly by Jackhammered Centurions.
Looks like some interesting variants, though. I particularly like the no feats. Play like you've got a pair, indeed!
