Hey just started an eldar army and was wondering if the craftworld lists and the ulthwe strike force list are still legal for the eldar?

GW never kindly tells us which codices/army lists are 'retired' and no longer in use, but what they do is to stop printing the codex (which happened to both of these lists), they don't offer the list online as a PDF, and they don't allow those armies at their GTs.

The trifecta of those three things lets you know that those army lists are no longer "officially" valid.

But again, that's from experience and conjecture rather than any official statement from GW.

The short answer is: No, neither of those lists are still legal.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!

Agreed, but at least the new codex allows you to get somewhere close to most craftworld armies in look and feel, even if some of the special rules are gone. Not saying it is a good thing, just an "at least".

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.
