I was playing my first game with my newly assembled Eldar.  It was only a 1000 point game, but was rather fun.  Though I did wipe the floor with my opponent, getting only 2 squads cut to half points and not losing any full squads, killing him to a man, I realized I needed more anti tank power.  I dropped the LR he had his GK HQ in, but only because he has some unlucky rolls assaulting my wraithlord with his Eversor, and was unable to kill it before the wraith lord punched his head in.  I had the following on the board...

1 Autarch w/ power weapon fusion gun, mandiblasters

1x10 banshee's w/ exarch mirrorswords in wave serpent spirit stones and scat laser

2x10 guardians with concealock and scat laser

1x10 DA exarch PW and shim shield and bladestorm

1x wraithlord bright lance and ML

I realized after that game had started I was REALLY relying on the wraithlord for any AV13+, had it died the game could have gone down quick.  My only other anti tank option wold have been the autarchs haywire grenades and the fusion gun.  I know I could just hop the guardians platforn to a BL or ML but they seem like a waste in a BS3 squad meant to kill other troops.  And the whole SoaP is a bit expensive for just 1,000 points, not enough utility in them for the cost of them and a falcon.  Anyway, advice appreciated, thanks!

What about switching the serpents weapons to BL, twinlinked makes it fairly reliable to hit with as well.

Give your concealocks singing spears. That's 2 str9 antiarmor shots at BS4 for 6 points (plus charging in with 2 str9 attacks afterward if close enough). Can't get much cheaper.

Give your autarch a warp jump pack. Its a little pricey at 30 pts (I think) but your enemy will rarely expect a lone hq to pop forward take a shot and disappear. One warwalker with 2 lances is good too, but may not survive too long.

If you're running him alone, that's too risky.  Do you want to lose your 100+ pt HQ once every 6 games (assuming you double-jump on every turn)?  Just give him the SH wings.  Give him a bike if you need the JSJ speed or SHW if you need to hide him, but the generator is a no-no if he's on his own.  It's just too risky.

Then again, if you're only double-jumping once or twice per game, then it's much less of an issue.  But in that case, is it worth 30 pts?

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias
