Good IG greatcoat fodder: TGN link www.tabletopgamingnews.com/ also www.pig-iron-productions.com/ (top left) Will come with gas-masked & helmeted 'militia' and unhelmeted (but masked) rebels heads (here's hoping they're the same price as other Pig Iron infantry...)

I think the idea is to have human "bad guys" for this regular troopers to fight.
He's promised painted pictures next week as long as the pieces of the caster come out okay so we'll hopefully have some painted samples to look at soon

I can't quite tell if there's something weird going on with their leg length, I'd need more pictures to be sure. Still, though, these actually look quite good. I'm totally loving those helmet and gas mask heads, and can only hope there'll be a sprue of them made available seperately.

The earlier PI stuff had leg length issues that got worked out as they released models; it'd be a shame if this new line went through the same song-and-dance. Having said that, they should be a nice neo-sov alternative...

Actually, those aren't bad at all. I could see adding a few of those in with my Traitor Gaurd as I build it.

I definitely dig those. I see what you guys are saying about the legs though...it might just be the coats though...hopefully that gets fixed.

Love 'em. At last, troopers I dig to go with those awesome huge tanks. Dare I contemplate those stormtrooper + APC lists I made when I first saw Pig Iron's stuff?? Yes - Boss Salvage

Ooh, I dig 'em, even with their stumpy little legs. Perhaps they are mutant squat halfbreeds? I also like the little fluff piece about them on the PI site: "KOLONY - the edge of humanity tears itself apart in a bitter civil war, fueled by narcotic insanity, greed and corruption." Awesome! Druggie psychos that aren't also BDSM freaks!
That said, I do hope they lengthen the legs slightly...

I've got one of the Pig Iron APCs and its a great resin kit. Actually much better quality than forgeworld resin and it was only £20! I know what you mean about the infantry though. As with the last range of pig iron infantry there are elements of them that i like but there are elements i really hate. Mainly the fact they are so chunky and square, and also not in proportion. They look a little shoddy and cheap (maybe thats too harsh a word... perhaps babyish is better), compared to GW, Corvus Belli, and Rackham. I love the concept of these Kolony troopers, but again the execution of the bodies really lets them down. I also dislike the gun designs. Having said that with enough conversion work, some green stuff, and some scratch building you could really make these awesome. I'd change the legs with another brands (maybe GW or Corvus' Infinity line) resculpt the bottom of the trench coat, change the guns and add to the upper torso. I think in the right hands these could be awesome as some of the heads are really nicely done. Hopefully the heads will be available seperately, pig irons other tropper heads are.

If the APC didn't cost $46 from TheWarStore I would so already have a few of them, though it's interesting that all Pig Iron tanks cost the same - APC, "assault" APC with turret, and battle tank with turret. No pricing by category ala GeeDub.
But good to hear that the kit is great quality too. And now that you mention the loose heads, time to scheme up conversions ... But the head pack comes with 10 bodies too, does it not? For $24 I hope so O_O

Hi Boss You know that you can always order direct from Pig Iron. I ordered mine direct from Pig Iron. It was about £20, that works out about $38. But I guess once you add shipping to the US it will be about the same. Pig Iron are UK based i beleive.

They're unfortunately also using the old "rest of world add 35%" for postage instead of charging actual postage costs plus a bit for packaging. Frankly, for me at least, that's a dealbreaker...
