Ignore the first post unless you're interested in how I'd probably be playing with these guys. I might be off a it on dates and chronology - was the Ordo Hereticus even in existence when the Primarchs did their crusades?
Neg. the Inquisition was formed by the Emperor after the Horus Heresy and the second founding, hence after the majority of the Primarchs. (but not Guilliman) However, the name Ironfist seems better tied to Ferrus Manus, Primarch of the Iron Hands.
That said, the fluff was a good read, though you might have a hard time finding opponents who let you take two allies.
Yeah, no. Golden Toilet, remember? It was, I believe, the Primarchs that founded the Inquisition. And Ferrus Manus essentially translates to Iron fist.
On the gaming table they'll only be fighting with two Codexes per detachment...besides the Marine list in that post I've thought of an IG based list and a DH based mechanized list. I was intending Ironfist as a reference to those gauntlets Marneus Calgar wears - it could also be Rogal Dorn, but based on the fact he wears blue armour in all their stories, the Black Hunters visit Ultramar. It's nice to hear the idea of an Inquisitor or future Inquisitor being involved in a just-post-Heresy Crusade is reasonably compatible with the chronology. So they're - according to themselves - the bastard 24th second founding of the Ultramarine, founded post-Heresy and post-Gamalia. (when Gulliman got his gloves) They paint their arms and armour brown and their shoulder pads, helmets and accessories in orange and black tiger stripes...more hunter than black but hey it should look cool.
