In my never-ending game of revision, I think I've finally found a list that is a decent take-all-comers force. I know that it leans heavily towards the more expensive Elite and HQ models, and that it is for the most part a footslogging army, but I don't see these as problems, since I'm getting a high mileage rating for the two command squads, the SB squad, and Terminators. That, coupled with my preferrably dense terrain maps, helps me out more often than not.

Please point out any weaknesses and or critical locations that require improvements. I'm also interested to hear how you all think this list would fare against similarly assaulty lists (Tyranids in particular). I also play against Iron Warriors, Death Guard, Tau, and Dark Eldar on a regular basis. Any suggestions on playing style or variations against those armies is greatly appreciated. And now, without further adieu:

It looks a solid list against most of those armies but I'd be concerned about the amount of points tied up in HQ and Elite.

You could fit a whole lot more marines in if you trimmed them down a bit.

Another thing, I always put melta bombs on my assault troops. Makes them much more versatile.

I'm glad you play on a dense terrrain board otherwise you could get shot to sh*t on the way in.

Against nids, it would depend on the lists config. Is it horde, 'zilla or mix.

I don't think it's fare too well against horde (not enough to trim it down before it reaches you) or 'zilla (most BT list would struggle against them).

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for the help Bartius. My friend's Tyranid list is mostly horde, but he usually is packing a Flyrant and a Choppafex. I've done somewhat decently against him in the past, but that was because he didn't really know what he was doing. Now that he and I are both pretty good with our armies, and have had the time to flesh them out and get a feel for how they play, I'm worried that he'll be rocking me.

I agree about the Melta Bombs - if I ever get around to upgrading them to a 3000 points list, I plan to only take more regular troops, Meltabombs on my Assault Marines, Crusader Seals on my shooty Crusader Squad (which is only 6 Marines, btw), and maybe a couple of drop pods.

Thanks again.
