Honestly, I didn't ask with the intention of getting it put in. It's obvious that it's not in there for a reason, be it personal preference of the mod-pack creator, or how it interacts with some other mods in the pack, or some other reason.

I'm tempted to try and get back into this, but worried I'll come crashing in like the kool-aid man given how easily it breaks. Dark seems like that IT technician who fixes an error only to be told it happened again ten seconds later, and then Sam spilled his morning coffee on the keyboard and Jill might have kicked her PC because it was taking too long and now it won't work so it must be the computer's fault because it worked before, oh and Steve took the liberty of throwing out that new radio you bought the office because despite everyone being connected to it nobody could pick up any stations even after adjusting the antennas, and by the way nobody has any internet now for some reason we think it's because we're not close enough to a window for the computers to get a signal.

And if you could clear all these porn pop-ups off my desktop that'd be just ace.

I was originally excited for the DW20 pack, but with the 1.7.10 version not containing Ars Magica, I don't think it'll be enough to pull me back to the server. =|

My personal issue with those magic mods is that I just plain dislike them--Thaumcraft especially. I'm not entirely sure why, but they all just feel... unlikeable to me. Ars Magica is the only magic mod I've ever managed to get into, and it was in DW's previous pack, but not this one. =(

Yeah, I can't remember if I even have anything on this server at all, never mind what it could possibly be. Waiting for a 1.9 reset would be fine for me.

Did this come with a a fresh server? Or are we keeping that for when a 1.9 pack comes along?

Like Minx said, this server's only been up a few days with a fresh modpack, so everyone's still learning. If you're worried about the complexity, Direwolf20's YouTube currently has him playing through this modpack from scratch, which can help with getting a solid foundation to start on. He'll probably upload a new one every 3 days or so, so there's a bit of a wait between them, but the 6 he's got out now are more than enough to get you started, if you're interested. I'm sure someone more well-versed in the pack and its contents would be able to give you a few pointers, too--I'd do it myself, but I don't actually know anything about the pack, so I'd just be repeating the stuff I learn from DW20's videos.

If you really do just want to spectate, you can still log in and just stalk darkinnit or someone; it's as much a social server as it is functional.

First item restoration petition:

Built my nether portal, stepped through, game disconnected me from the server because ???, I reconnect inside a wall and instantly suffocate.

No problem, I go back through the portal but the portal it created for me in the nether is 1500m away from where my death waypoint was created.

The portal it created is at -x46, -z200/201, but according the waypoint, somehow I died at -x314 -z1608.

I can't remember much of what I lost except a flint pickaxe--eh--a backpack, and a brand new steel-silver-bronze rapier I'd just made. I can make another sword--thankfully I made more steel than I needed at SirRalphy's--but could I please get a new backpack? I haven't found a good source of leather yet, and I couldn't find any cows within a good distance of me when i had to make the first. I think tikka had to give me the leather for it in the end.

EDIT: Forgot the death parchment gives you an inv. list. Could probably do with getting the 23 coal back as well, please, and maybe the bucket if you were feeling generous, but I've enough iron to replace that.

Yes I do realise that. I also realise that I was dumped into the middle of the nether 1500m away, inside a wall; I'm not sure if there will even be a gravestone due to that, or if it is generated, where it could possibly be. If it's generated simply at the closest available space, that could be literally anywhere--inside a lava pool, on top of bedrock outside the world, on the other end of a several-chunk large wall of netherrack I'd have to mine completely to find. I was also encouraged to ask dark by people on the server at the time--people who likely also realise these things.

Are you referring to the leaves almost instantly degrading? If so, that's actually a purposeful feature, not a bug.

I stopped because I don't understand how 90% of the mods work, so I had to watch Direwolf's series to understand them, which led to me realising I wasn't enjoying playing because I was essentially just copying Dire, and I might as well just watch his videos.

That and I think Minecraft's lustre in general has long worn off for me.

Skyfactory was reasonably fun until the constant crashes and mind-numbing tedium finally got to me.
