Awesome! They look great, are the LEDS hiding behind contact lens cases?

You got it.

Thanks everyone for all your comments

Following the same technique Blackadder used in his Thunderhawk build, these lights are also behind contact lens cases. I've also put some reflective foil behind the lamp shades to hopefully generate a greater luminescence in the bay. Unfortunately, despite this, the lights aren't very bright and I have a feeling I'm going to need s second set. I will paint some of the inner hull aluminium to help reflect what light there is, and we'll see how it looks before I invest in some more... Test run with gangways to follow...

While I continue to work on the interior I thought I’d show you the WIP on the bay control room which can be seen in the back of the test picture I took- it’s already aluminium and awaiting painting details. Made of a Primaris tank control panel split in two, and a Rhino bulkhead, I present the back wall of the booth and in the second picture the front wall without adornment. It’s only silver at the top to simulate the grime and exhaust from the vehicles...
the glass still has to go in the ‘window’, which will happen after the painting, and then the Marines...

I appreciate there’s not constant updates and it seems to be going quite slowly- but it’s reaching a point where all the bits can come together and the interior will be a completely different thing from the the one before.
Previously I had some greebles simulating machinery by the main door, I have made minor changes and but in a door on the side near that machinery. I’ll be painting it and adding details to both the forward hull wall and the control booth wall in a bit.
I enjoy building more than painting, so it always takes a little longer in doing stuff than it should. Sorry guys.

The 1977 Millennium Falcon.
Before you ask- no I didn't destroy one, but parts can be found in bric-a-brac shops or even a certain online auction site...

I actually think I might have overdid it... I did a test fitting with the roof, (with hooks, chains and cables attached) the cockpit and the tanks inside... not only can you not see a damn thing but one of the rhinos gets stuck! I've got Marines to go in the control booth and you just can’t see them!

Thank you kindly... and I agree- If I have any of these Millennium Falcon panels left, I'll be more than happy to send them your way.

Guardling wrote:Very nice! Looking forward to seeing more!

Much appreciated. I'm moving along with it

I cheated a bit and found some 3D printed consoles on the bay of e's I wanted to put them in the main vehicle bay to be manned by servitors... I got the consoles but I'm not sure if I can fit the servitors in there with the tanks
I put the clear "window" in the control bay, but when I was doing it I dropped it and broke the Aquila... The piece of wing has vanished! It could be anywhere but I've decided to leave it broken. I'll drill a little bolt hole to suggest its former location and leave it like that.

Next up the ceiling

The ceiling is mostly done-
a central cradle for cranes and cables, then the lights, with reflective foil and then contact lens covers. The light fixture for the command booth isn’t done yet as I haven’t decided where in the booth it will go... in the ceiling or hidden elsewhere- plus I have marines to fit in there as well!
The two consoles are in place at the back of the bay on either side of a Rhino and as predicted, they’re damn hard to see.
Before the ceiling is fitted I’ll have to add the gangways.
There were going to be two elevators- one on either side- but with so much other stuff in there I had to cancel their installation... sorry guys.

If you squint you’ll see the computer consoles at the back!

Oh! I had an idea about the non-existent elevators: you could take two hollow sprue frames, placed at the back (so either side of where the Rhino is parked) and then painted in to give the impression of elevator doors?

Man! You’re knocking this out of the park! Loving how much detail you’re cramming in and all of the screens are looking amazing. As for the lifts, can you move the consoles to the side walls? Or just put a panel in the floor in front of the with a rack and pinion on the side wall? I know that generally the Imperium likes railings, but you could emulate that other evil Empire! .

Magnets are your friend. Magnetize the roof so it stays on securely but can be removed at will to show off the interior.
