Sup Dakka,

here he is!

It's been great watching you build your army. I never hesitate to check out what you've been up to when I see this thread at the top of the P&M page.
It's also been good to see your skills increase as you've progressed with your conversions.

Keep it up

Sup Dakka,

So after watching a gak ton of tutorials online and since I’ve been working with GS for a little while now I thought I would try and take my GS skills to the next level. decided to try a little bit of crazy nurgle gak. By no means do I consider myself a GS master but I’m pretty happy with the over all result. I added a little bit of backpack detail to a couple of my previous conversions and got a head start on the torso of my 8th plague marine!

check it out!

Here i tried to give him a mouth like stomach.

Couple backpack additions

As always Dakka thanks for the read, CHEERS!

Lecacty- thanks man. I've been really trying to work on the backpacks as they seem so...... I guess normal? what I'm trying to get at is from the front they look like plague marines but from the back they just look like regular csm. I feel like the little bit of extra detail really makes them pop from every angle. But hey how about you my friend? Working on anything new these days?

Xendarc - hey Xendarc thanks, I really appreciate you spending the time to check out my plog. From day one with green stuff till now has definitely been a learning curve. Not the easiest stuff to work with but I really enjoy it so it's worth it in the end. I'm slowly learning and getting better it's just too bad I can't put in more time I would really like to have all 10 finished by now and at least a couple base coats on them. I guess that's life.

Those are some lovely models. I think I must have missed this before as it is not in blogs.

Sup Dakka,

Managed to almost finish the 4th melta plague he just needs a little bit of detail and the backpack stacks need to be finished, i just didnt have enough time today to get it done. I did a little bit more green stuff work on the backpack of a recent conversion and i think it really finished the model. Since its long weekend here in Ontario I’m going to try and utilize my day off (if im lucky) and try and get the last 2 champions finished. Now its pretty cold down here right now and if you haven’t noticed I haven’t got any painting done due to the weather. I’m a little worried since I prime outdoors to give it a try and this is why ive been focusing on all my conversion work until it warms back up.

any ways here is the last melta!

backpack face!

thanks for the read dakka and keep posted for new content, Cheers!

If you want to rust up that sword stipple on some liquid green stuff to give it texture and drybrush. I'm currently doing that w/ my plagueies and it works wonders!

Drill out the gun barrels?

These plague-dudes look great, good proportion of organic and armour and their rotted guts don't look like beer bellies
Worst thing for me about the cold is how much longer it makes GS take to set completely

Sup Dakka,

Sadly I did not manage to finish both champs this weekend due to... life? I did however get a nice head start on the first champion and managed to build, fully magnetize, and add some tubes and detail. I still need to GS him up a bit, add some more detail and get his backpack done with a champion trophy. I gave him a pre made nurgle champion shoulder pad and to be honest I think my custom ones are just so much better it honestly kinda sorta looks like crap... I think im going to either rip it off and make my own or maybe just GS right over it lol

Sup Dakka,

So I got he first champ done and a real nice GS start on the second plague champ. On the second champ I gave it a shot and put a hood on him with a torn and beat up look.

super happy with the results, here they are!

Finished Champ

sorry for the bad quality pics but my phone was on its way dead and I had to be quick lol.

thanks for stopping by, Cheers!

I love the Champ! He looks like he could shred your face with his face.
The wiring is a good touch and the exhaust on the backpacks are somehow packed with character.
I too am partial to the ol' exhaust vents

Not sure how I feel about the hood. Maybe if you add more flowy torn bits it might look more in place.
still, curious to see how he comes out.
Also you really nailed the rotted gut with this guy

What do you think you'll do once you've finished your plague marines?

:edit:
Thanks for checking out my gallery too! I've not been working on anything as of late (I blame fallout 4) but I've recently been hit with some inspiration and am wanting to get back into it.

Hey Xendarc, thanks for your advice and to be honest I'm not very happy with the hood neither. I've never attempted it before and I had no idea what I was doing. Im still on the fence about what I should do, should I try and rip it offer try or salvage it and just add more GS. I feel it's probably better to star over when it comes to green stuff but I guess we'll see what happens. On the other hand I'm also super happy with his gut, this is by far my best work I guess practice really does pay off . As for the vents I just think regular csm backpacks on plague marines don't work. I needed to figure something out and this was my solution, it matches the look quite nice and it's super easy to do.

What is my next move you ask?...... I don't even know where to begin. I would really like to get some paint on the plagues once they are finished so hopefully we get some warm weather so I can get some primer on them. If that fails in the meantime I got so many mondels to build and paint. i got 8 csm Bikers to build and paint and I'm kind of in a pickle. 9 times out of 10 bikers will have the mark of nurgle and I'm building a army with 2 units of nurgle bikers with a biker lord of nurgle and a regular sorcerer on the bike. So here is the problem, do I convert all the bikers to nurgle including the lord or should I just keep them regular with my bone legion theme in case one day (praying to the dark gods) that we get a new codex and now I'm stuck with nurgle bikers. It's probably a safe bet to just make them normal but once again, I guess we'll see what happens . I also have a rhino to build and paint for these marines so that's probably my next move and I'm itching to get another tank done.

Thanks for popping by and I can't wait to see what you got next up your sleeve. Any advice for making hoods with green stuff?

I've never pulled it off myself, but I was thinking maybe a 'cheater' way could be to grab a Dark Angels hooded helm and kinda gak it up a bit.
A couple gouges here, a few holes there, then go over it with a thin layer of GS to give it the texture and look you want while not having to worry about the shape.

It's up to you and how you feel as to whether you salvage it or not. I you feel like you'll just never be happy with it then maybe try anew, but if you still see potential go for it!

Sup Dakka,

I know its been a while since my last paint job but due to work, my daughter and the gakky weather its been hard. On the bright side I did manage to get all 10 plague marines built, primed and slapped some paint on one. I wasn't really sure how to tackle the paint job on these bad boys but after thinking and thinking I finally have come up with a scheme that also keeps coherency with the bone legion scheme. Here is what I have come up with, he still needs some weathering/battle damage and i haven't painted his base, sword on his back or shoulder pad. I plan on painting the shoulder pad and sword in black and gold to represent he is part of the bone legion.

HERE HE IS (FINALLY)

I'm super happy with how both the paint job and the conversions turned out and I cant wait to start getting the rest painted up.

Thanks for the read Dakka, Cheers!

thanks guys I really appreciate it. I'm gonna start banging out the others 2nite. this first model was kind of a test to see how the scheme would turn out, I think it's a winner. I originally wanted to use nurgling green but in all honesty I can't stand how it looks. I used death world forest for the base, I washed in sereph sepia, back with death world forest and then I mixed 3 parts death world forest to 1 part yellow for a more puke green. much happier with the results I'm gonna have to go to my local Hobbie store today and look for a different green that suits my needs better.

Sup Dakka,

Managed to paint another one up fully obviously the base isn't done yet. So im starting to realize that batch painting just isnt my forte, when i batch paint i loose concentration and i start to rush. For now on its model at a time that way I always put my 100% in each time.

here he is battle damage and all!

Super happy with how these guys are turning out so far, Cheers!

Yeah man really great work. I actually dig the contrast of the black shoulder-pad which helps draw another line to the fact that they're with the Bone-bros
I like the rusty look of the pipe exhausts and bolter too.
