Yeah, I know.... Its a clix based game. I thought I was done with clix when mechwarrior went stupid. Now I wished I had saved the money from my mechwarrior phase for this fried slice of gold. (bonus points to whomever got that shaun of the dead reference) But what other game has cool models and decent rules (Wizkids seemed to have learned a few lessons from the clix engine in the past few years) that you can bring together into literally a single monster mash? Cool themes galore. - Cthulhu
- Giger's Alien
- Predator
- Killer clows
- zombies
- Lovecraftian monsters galore
- Alien Hive queen
- etc...
The list of awesome just goes on and on... Have you ever wondered who would win in a battle between The Incredible (zombie) Hulk and Cthulhu? Well now you can find out first hand. Anyone else here have the chance to catch this game?

Yeah, if Confrontation hadn't taken up most of my money, I might be playing that right now. The HUGE Cthulhu model is sweet. My LGS had one to give away for a permotional tourney, the guy who won it, left it there at the store. He also runs a weekly tourney for other players and such. I saw the AvP stuff and just about popped a nut. Must.... Resist..... Must.... Resist....

youre gonna have to resist harder.
I just bought 25 Giger aliens for $50
Prepainted, theyre Aliens, I can use these for 'stealers in spacehulk kill team, theyre wicked pissuh in horrorclix. Cant beat dual use cool models.
Plus it been many years since any official aliens wargaming models have been made, atleast not since the days of leading Edge games (15 years).
Oh and I picked up some more lovecraftian monsters as well to round out my 3000 pt R'Lyeh cabal (Great Cthulhu takes up anywhere between 600-1800 of those points)
I get tons more fun out of these minis than I do from 40K , well except for kill team.

this is how cool the aliens are in Horror clix. (the figs were made into this diorama without any modifications other than taking them off the base) And gale force nine made a great demo table for wizkids as well. (featuring AVP) www.gf9.com/terrain/gallery/view_album.php

One word.... HELLBOY! This game makes a good showing for itself, plus the good assortment of monsters. I especially like the Romero-esk Zombies, The Chtulhu, the neat aliens, and Predator.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

the worst thing about these games is the dumb rachet ring you need to click the bases with. Other than that, I wouldnt worry about a perceived age group. Hell, most people I know that play clix games are very socially adjusted, successful adults. (except for heroclix, only geeks who cant get a date and 9 year olds play that one... )

I took all the dupe zombies me and the other people that had like 20 dupes of and took them off the base and put them on a 20mm wood discs. They work such a gret treat for games like ZOMBIES!!! its not even funny. God bless chinese sweat shops churning these out.

I got Cthulhu at comicon last summer, and it is one of my favorite minis I've ever seen. I still haven't actually played the game yet though. I'm kinda out of the loop, I didn't know the AVP minis were out yet. I saw them at Comicon too, and they are surely rad. I can't wait to whip out Cthulhu in a D&D game and tell the players that he's scale to their characters' minis. >

Youre still in florida right? Goota be a few game shops that have somebody playing the stuff. it took me a few tries here in Minneapolis to find people to play, but there seems to be a solid following enough to have atleast sanctioned events occasionally.

Halo is also coming. I believe it is slated for late this year, early next year. Pretty good looking models.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |

Posted By Sarigar on 03/24/2007 1:57 PM Halo is also coming. I believe it is slated for late this year, early next year. Pretty good looking models. Its too bad Litkoareosystems had to make their "space corridor" set in 35mm tiles, as that would be a keen setup for haloclix. You need a bare minimum of 40-42mm for base tiles. Litko's excuse was "A 40mm round base will fit quite happily on a 35mm square without too much overhang. And you can line up the 40mm bases in adjacent squares by shifting them slightly to each side." which is something I just dont buy. Skimping on a few millimeters for an almost cool tiles system could make or break that board setup, I am leaning closer to it breaking it. www.litkoaero.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc I am kinda looking forward to halo myself. Definatly a no brainer game, but then again, halo wasnt known for its deep philosophical aspects.

the problem is, you can't really mix this stuff with heroclix, since the point values are too different. the horrorclix gmae itsels is more about killiing the NSC victims, and not the enemy...too bad, I was so looking forward to Predator vs. Wolverine btw. when do I finally get Ninja Turtles miniatures.....?

You know what? I dont need his home address for that. I can send it to him C/O his work. Like crack, the first hit is always for free.... Muahahahahahaha! So what do you think of the mechanics and such so far, iorek? Do you like how plot twists work? How about the victims? Here is a good victim that was made avaialble through an inquest magazine that I know any of us would love... The flavor text reads: "Jon clutched his precious sourceboks and dice bag as they closed in. The last sound he heard was his dice spillling onto the floor. In death, as in life, Jon failed to make his saving roll." Pure Gold.

The miniatures are as good as any pre-painted clicky miniatures that have been released (except for Dreamblade, which is even nicer).
The game though, sadly, stinks.
One game at my club a few months back was sufficient to convince me I didn't want to send any money Wizards' way over this one.
Each to there own I guess!

Well, if the rules are anything like Mageknight and Heroclix, then it should be pretty faced paced, easy to pick up, a real beer & pretzels game. I used to do Heroclix with some buds, but I couldn't be bothered to keep up with the expansions, and the way teamups worked (and were optimized) always bothered me (e.g. shield medic, Mandroid, Crimson Dynamo, White Queen, Flaming Torch, cyclops, bwuh?).
