For those 2 or 3 people who don't visit there. Go to www.warseer.com and download it.

A ton of 40k rumours.

I really hope the ork ones are true. Plastic Warboss kit, Stormboyz, Grotz. Basic boyz kit to make every type of boy. Battlewagon, and a light vehicle kit. Along with ork weapons from the past coming back. It's looking good if true.

Tons of other stuff in there along with the High Elf hero sprue. Go take a look!

Oh, and Jes doing the new Dark Eldar, who should be released early next year! Supposedly a lot like the art in the big book, with the troopers and a Crafworld Eldar looking bike.

And some Chaos stuff. It sounds like more books than one, but how many no one knows. Plastic Chaos Lord, and the chance of individual ruinous power sprues like the new DA one.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

And here from Warseer is a summary of them all.

Release Schedule:

- Orbital Bombardment (6 linked Ordinance templates)
Any weapon of S7+ ignores armour saves
Baneblade:
New Baneblade done, painted and being used in Studio games
Apparently 1 inch larger than the FW one all round.
3 variants (so 4 Baneblades in total):
- Different turret option
- Chaos
- Ork
Hull designed with empty sections to make it easy to convert
Stompa
Big kit by Aly Morrison. yes, that's pretty much it.

Problems in production. won't be released for a while
1 kit, 3 variants
- Standard
- Deathwind
- Dreadnought
May accompany Blood Angels codex (2008?) or Space Wolves codex (later than that)

- 2 Devastator Squads
- Command Squad
- Dreadnought

Power-specific Vehicle upgrade sprues
Power-specific Marine sprues (will not require standard CSM parts. Contains parts for marked Terminators)
Plastic Raptors possible
Plastic Obliterators possible
Plastic Daemons
Resculpt of Horus (that's what it says, Horus. I think Abaddon's more likely as there was never a Horus model sculpted in the first place. I don't see how you can resculpt something for which there is no original sculpt)
Extra codices for each god/Cult Legion
Codex: CSM, Codex: Daemons and Codex: Chaos Hordes

Orks
Almost the whole range is being redone
Platic Warboss with ALL the weapon options in the codex

New Plastic Stormboyz - box of 10
Plastic Grots - similar to WFB Night Goblins in construction
Trakk/Trukk/Buggy box - not quite "All vehicles in one box

No plastic ork Dread - dreads not popular enough to justify it. Possible plastic Kans though
Codex is in the "new style" - like DA, Eldar and so on.
- Vehicles getting a (turbo?) boost
- Possibly returning a little to the 2nd ed "comedy" style - but not much.

Dark Eldar
Godwyn working on the new models (apparently solo)
New warriors and Reavers apparently done
Warriors look like the 40K rulebook artwork

Eldar
Autarch on bike (Hybrid with plastic Jetbike) Non-GW Conversion
Plastic Wraithguard a distant possibility
Plastic Warlocks and Autarch a possibility before the next Eldar codex

Space Marines
Plastic Vindicator Chaos release
Space Marines: Redux is coming, designed to help new players - seeing as the majority of them start with Marines. Not likely in the next year
Space Wolves in 2009, possibly earlier

Tyranids
Plastic Gargoyles, Raveners and Hive Tyrant

"Much darker look than before"

Space Hulk
40K rules expansion like CoD and Apocalypse
Plastic tiles available seperately
New Tyranid models available in SH sets not available for wider release (like the BfM ones)

Necrons
30th birthday Silver necron will not be plated, but moulded from high-gloss silver plastic
- It will be a Destroyer

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

It odd how I am always on warseer, and miss stuff like this.

Thanks for the link to watchman, Toreador.

[edit]

though you missed the caveat concerning the release schedule.

According to watchman, apocalypse is the only thing we know of to be released this year (october) with any known certainty.

Thanks for the summary repost. Many things to look forward to after all, despite doom-and-gloom of Codex:Chaos changes, and not all of them FW either ... Should be an exciting next few years O_O

Also - FW doing World Eater in addition to Alpha Legion? I like, might have found shock troopers for my demon engine army of doom ...

- Boss Salvage

Yep.

Though they sound like Chaos is before Apocalypse.

I would bet Chaos after summer. Apocalypse, then High Elves for Christmas. Orks probably released like DA early 2008.

A lot of contradictions even in the Watchmen article....

Indeed there is. Notice the pirated and badly resculpted russian citadel eldar knock off that watchman refers to on page 53?

My jaw dropped when I saw them refer to it as if it is something that is a sneak peek.

It's simply a compilation of rumors, some stronger than others. No way Apocalypse releases within 3 months of another Codex. They don't even overlap Army Books and Codicies. Usually two months between those.

But there is still some nice info there. Bear with me:

"Release Schedule:
- Chaos Space Marines. (September/October)
- Apocalypse (October)
- Orks. (Christmas 2007/January or possibly February/March)"

I believe CSM is correct, and I believe the Orks F/M are correct, though it could slide for Apocalypse and become the big summer 2008 release. Again, no way are there three Codicies in four months. And CSM is confirmed (for me, at least) by the GD UK artwork, and all the local buzz at my store and elsewhere. Chaos is next. In the fall.

"Apocalypse:
Huge book, multiple editions"

What does multiple editions mean?

"Baneblade:
New Baneblade done, painted and being used in Studio games
Apparently 1 inch larger than the FW one all round.
3 variants (so 4 Baneblades in total):"

I believe this, and I believe it'll be the big Apoc. release, whenever that is.

"Stompa"

Excellent for the Orks. Hope the model does the idea justice.

"Drop Pods
Problems in production. won't be released for a while
1 kit, 3 variants
May accompany Blood Angels codex (2008?) or Space Wolves codex (later than that)"

Definitely be part of a SM release. Maybe a variant to follow with SW.

"Space Marine Battle Company
Parts for the following:
...
- "Extra stuff" like decals
comes in a big wooden crate
Possibility of a bigger, direct-only box containing the sprues for 400+ marines. Just the sprues."

Eh...repackaged bulk models don't do much for me, unless released at a nice bulk savings.

"Cypher
Possible Apocalypse release.
"an awesome model"
Possibly a promo figure"

Been hearing about him for a while. I lean towards an Apoc. release, though that doesn't make sense. No way it's a promo model, unless it's pants. It should be awesome...the first Cypher blew goat, for such a good concept.

"Chaos
Chaos Baneblade (mentioned above)
Chaos Space Marine Commander (All Undivided wargear, along with other generic options)
Possible power-specific commanders
Chaos Terminators - Undivided only."

Termies are certain - plenty of reports for months now. Lord is also probably certain.

"Power-specific Vehicle upgrade sprues
Power-specific Marine sprues (will not require standard CSM parts. Contains parts for marked Terminators)"

I'd love this to be true, but now we are talking a lot of plastic. GW has been promising power-specific plastic (in both Fantasy and 40K) for a LOOOOONG time. I'll believe it when I see it.

"Plastic Raptors possible
Plastic Obliterators possible"

Don't really believe either.

"Plastic Daemons"

With 7th Edition Chaos Army Book. Brimstone all but confirmed no plastic daemons with 40K Chaos. Last sets of Daemons came out with Hordes of Chaos. Expect Fantasy to get that release (probably as an army book next year).

"Resculpt of Horus (that's what it says, Horus. I think Abaddon's more likely as there was never a Horus model sculpted in the first place. I don't see how you can resculpt something for which there is no original sculpt)"

Maybe. Unless Goodwin sculpts it, it'll probably be a step down.

"Extra codices for each god/Cult Legion
Codex: CSM, Codex: Daemons and Codex: Chaos Hordes"

I don't buy any of that. I'd love Chaos to get a Renegades/LATD book. I think it'd sell VERY well. Cram all of that in there.

"Orks
Almost the whole range is being redone
Platic Warboss with ALL the weapon options in the codex
...
- Possibly returning a little to the 2nd ed "comedy" style - but not much."

I hope so. Ork players deserves it. I'd bet money on the Plastic Warboss box. I just hope to hell Nelson does it.

"Dark Eldar
Godwyn working on the new models (apparently solo)
New warriors and Reavers apparently done
Warriors look like the 40K rulebook artwork"

Heard the Goodwin rumor a while back. This still puts them a LONG way away (late 2008 at the EARLIEST, probably 2009). They need a Goodwin makeover. Great concept, fugly range.

"Eldar
Autarch on bike (Hybrid with plastic Jetbike) Non-GW Conversion
Plastic Wraithguard a distant possibility
Plastic Warlocks and Autarch a possibility before the next Eldar codex"

Next Codex only 7 years away!!!

"Space Marines
Plastic Vindicator Chaos release
Space Marines: Redux is coming, designed to help new players - seeing as the majority of them start with Marines. Not likely in the next year"

Sure. I imagine they'll squeeze the Redux in (minimal work) in 2008. Pad out the schedule, make some sales.

"Space Wolves in 2009, possibly earlier"

Probably not earlier. Still have BA to fit in during 2008. Tight squeeze. The SW are "my" army, the one I love and look forward to. I bet they are late 2009. I'll have fricking seen a James Cameron movie by the time I get a new Space Wolves Codex

"Forgeworld
Adeptus Mechanicus
Long way off
- Admech troops
- Skitarii Command/Special weapon squads
- New tank chassis & variations
Troops likely to be single-part bodies
- Lots of new Servitor models"

Been hearing the AdMech rumors for a while. We'll see.

"Space Hulk
40K rules expansion like CoD and Apocalypse
Plastic tiles available seperately
New Tyranid models available in SH sets not available for wider release (like the BfM ones)"

Could be a great gateway drug for the hobby, as could Kill Team. If only GW would figure that out. Lower model count to play will only help bring in players. Bigger games are great for vets, but smaller games are great for newbs.

Some nice stuff. I'd love for the Orks and Chaos stuff to be true. But that's a metric @$$ ton of plastic. We'll see.  And nothing about the Blood Angels   I do expect them to be about 18 months away.

After seeing Seb's orks released for COD, I am confident that if he does the new orks they will be good. I may ever dare say that they will be better than what Nelson made.....heresy I know, and for that Drake will ban me...

Did he do the Kommandos? I just picked them up a couple of weeks ago, and I agree, they are some of the best Ork figs I have seen. I had to sculpt a beret on the boss and a couple of boyz, but other than that they were perfect!

We are both banninated!!

I also wouldn't count out a lot of the plastic rumours so easily. Especially the daemons. Those rumours have been coming from multiple sources for awhile now.

Just get some cigarette ashes and make a little pile. I'm sure they burned the body as quickly as they could.

I must say that I am a bit disappointed with Watchman #2. It seemed... lacking for some reason. The best thing was the long list of rumours, but I don't need an e-zine for that. Now, that being said, maybe I should get off my heinie and submit a terrain article for the next one (I can't paint and can't articulate tactics, but I'm good at building stuff).

Some nice rumours there, but I think they sometimes go overboard with the plastic. Raveners and Hive Tyrant in plastic? What the hell for?
The Hive Tyrant would make sense with a winged option (or how long do we have to wait for that to happen), but Raveners? Ho cool are the current models again? A repack with a pair of rending claws would be enough.

That was a nice read.

it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.
