Viterbi wrote:Lovely skin tone on Chimera and a cool color scheme for your Overlords, love the green/brown contrast.

I'm being a bit conservative with that particular Overlord, some of the others will probably be a bit more colourful, I'm currently mulling over the idea of doing a couple in "girly" colours to hint that there may be a lady Dwarf inside the suit.
Didn't get a lot of painting done this week, was sidetracked into assembling these ladies:-
As much as I may complain about Kingdom Death in other parts of the forum, I do like their minis!
But, as it's now over, I can show off my competition mini, Quinn the Investigator (Reaper):-

Even though I didn't get anywhere in the competition itself, I thought I did a good job on him so I'm still happy.

Nice work on the competition mini, really liking the colour palette you picked for it. Good update!
Thanks!
Yeah, I'm still pretty reluctant to paint my Kingdom Death stuff. They're no more detailed than the average GW mini but they seem more intricate somehow!
IGtR= wrote:Great round of miniatures (I too had lots to catch-up on!) - there must have been some stiff competition for your fella to not get anywhere

Yeah, standards were much higher than I thought they'd be, my poor little dude didn't stand a chance with all the fancy stuff everyone else was doing!

Finished more stuff!
The Chimera (Etherfields):-

Pretty pleased with how this one turned out, even though I never got her skin the way I wanted it.
Skefill (Games Workshop):-

I'm also pretty happy with this one, despite taking the lazy option in painting his gem encrusted base.
On the table now is Mecha Toto:-
And, Little Dot:-
I'm trying to get my Oz gang finished by the end of the year.

Didn't quite manage to get anything finished.
Toto is all painted up:-
Just need to finish his base, but I'm waiting to do Dorothy's at the same time.
Speaking of:-
There's just a few odds and ends left.
Mostly, I got sidetracked building stuff again, the next things in the painting queue are:-

I'd been putting of buying the holiday Pin-ups for a while, as I don't have a great track record when it comes to finishing my larger Kingdom Death minis (or any of my larger stuff for that matter!), but I seem to be doing okay for now.
Managed to get Dorothy and Toto (Twisted) wrapped just before the year ended:-

Not as happy with these two as I was with the rest of the set, Toto in particular ended up rather bland, but at least that's another set done!
Weirdly though, I dug out my older Dorothy mini to do a comparison shot and:-
I'd given them the same colour dress, even though I haven't looked at older Dorothy since I painted her at least a couple years ago, and it's a colour I rarely use.
Finishing them gave me a grand total of 47 minis finished in 2020! Not quite the 52 I wanted to do, sinking a lot of hobby time into stuff I didn't finish (Like that danged submarine) didn't help, but I was close.
Finished Minis:-
Reaper
Ashlynn
Mary Jo
Remus
Amiri
Quinn
Guild Ball
Rage
Corsair
Hopper and Quaff
Harriet the Hat
Hemlocke
Wolsung
Hazel
Pop
Games Workshop
Screamin' Eddie
The Engineer
Istar
Shroomancer
Gudea
Tukkuttok
The Rebel
Bride of Filth
Grashrak
Skefill
Kingdom Death
Storm Knight
Cleric
Lady Fancy Hair
Skully
Angry Joe
Gigalion
Deep Wars
Klegg
Triton
Twisted
Tricia
Squirrel
Dodger
Tzandi
Oz Gang
Marvel
Doc Ock
Zemo
Random
Sir Shelly
Singh
Malifaux
King Crybaby
Etherfields
Shapeshifter
Chimera
For 2021, as I've gotten into Warhammer:- Underworlds in a big way, I want to concentrate on getting more painted (maybe even actually finishing a whole team!). I also want to get more Kingdom Death stuff done as I should (hopefully) be getting a load of stuff from the Kickstarter during the year.
It would also be nice if I could get some of my half-finished big stuff wrapped up.
I'm also going to be having a bit of a clear out, getting rid of some of the random stuff I've been acquiring, so you probably won't see me painting any more Malifaux (I've finally accepted as much as I like their minis, I just don't like painting them), Deep Wars (They're nice, but terrible to put together, especially the resin stuff) or Marvel Crisis Core (I'm just way too behind on releases).
It's a shame as there's quite a few minis in there I was really looking forward to painting at one time, but want to stop spreading myself so thin, and concentrate on a handful of ranges and more self-contained stuff (Like my Etherfields set).
