Here's the first Trollblood list I put together.  I am brand new to Hordes and don't have any miniatures yet.  Let me know what you think. Would the Fellcaller or the Krielstone bearer be a better choice? Also - I'm not sure about the Pyre Troll. I have heard his animus is rather good, but I have also heard it's not so great. Thanks for the feedback!

Warlock:

Madrak  - 64

Beasts:

Axer – 72

Impaler – 75

Impaler – 75

Pyre Troll – 68

Units:

Champions – 106

Either Krielstone Bearer with 3 scribes – 34

Or

 Fell Caller – 35

Total Points: 494 or 495, respectively.

Most people who run this "brick" have both the Fell Caller and the Krielstones. The debate is whether another Champion unit or a Mauler is used instead of the second impaler and pyre troll.

It's not a bad starting list. Either the Krielstone or Fell Caller (or Alten Ashley or Totem Hunter) are viable choices for about the same points. Most people don't go with the Fell Caller, and max out the Krielstone unit and take the Swamp Gobbers for the 'brick'. With the Gobbers, the Champs are DEF 14 vs. Range and DEF 16 vs. Melee. And the Axer's animus helps with terrain.

The Pyre troll's animus is nice, but not a necessity, especially against Hordes since they are generally lower Armor than Warmachine. The Mauler's animus is a little better (but he's 40 more points) because it will add to Madrak and the Impaler's thrown weapon damage, where the Pyre's won't.

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer
