So I'm looking at two different 750 lists with Kromac. Both are beast
heavy and both include Ravagers. But the list breaks down for the additional
unit. Right now I'm looking at

either Blood Trackers + 3 or

Druids

I'm trying to field my painted models for Stampede, and so arguments
in favor of the Bloodtrackers include the fact that I painted them better.
Also, they give me an additional advance deploy unit that can cause
some damage before the army starts rolling in. They also run well with
the Tharn background being, you know, Tharn.

The presence of Druids is nice with their anti-magic pulse. With them
in the list I could either use them offensively to try to knock stuff
down and cause heavy casualties, or to use them in place of Bestial
so that Kromac can run around like a maniac. From a background
perspective, they would be there as agents of Morvahna, trying to
keep Kromac in check.

Any thoughts for those of you who have actually played the army?

I've only played Kromac once, and that was at 500 points, and it was
a very ugly end. <!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_1949841-->

I've just made the same decision with my 500 point Baldur list, the Bloodtrackers won. Ravagers got the heave ho for Wolf Riders. Pimp Warlocks FTW!

I want to use the Ravagers in place of the Wolfriders simply because I don't have
the Wolfriders painted, and the primer is kind of gritty (either bad spray or humidity)

Fair enough, I'm starting to think Wolf riders are better in pairs (unit of four) than on their own as mini solos so they're more expensive than Ravagers too, at least until their UA comes out. I may proxy it in a list using the Kromac model, perhaps under Krueger.

If painting is your primary motivator then perhaps your mind is already made up, unless you have other painted units waiting in the wings. What other infantry do you have available?

Perhaps a Woldwyrd may take the anti magic role for this force.

Still haven't bought a Woldwyrd.

Infantry: I have druids, Wolves Orboros, Ravagers, Lord of the Feast.
I can field two minimum units oif Ravagers, two minimum units of Wolves
of Orboros, one full unit of Bloodtrackers.

I also have a Totem Hunter, but no other minions.

How about '84' points of Wolves of Orboros i.e. 10 of them @ 83 points? I never rated them enough to buy or proxy any although a 'wolves' themed army, with them, their UA and Reeves may be fun when they're all out later next year. It's 226 points for a full unit of each maxed out, but I digress...

You could go Ravager heavy (you don't state how many Ravagers you are using) with two minimum units. Although you'd have to rate Ravagers more than me to take that route.

The Lord of the Feast is a good companion for Kromac, they're mentioned together in the fluff and Kromac's spell has synergy with him but I wouldn't drop a unit for him or the Totem Hunter.

You should think about investing in a Woldwyrd (in general). I'm thinking of investing in a second one for the Baldur list I mentioned earlier. While I'm suggesting ways to spend your money I'll recommend a Swamp Gobber team too, a points bargain @ 15 points and useful even against Everblight. You can paint up either of these in no time
