I'm just getting back into Eldar after about a six month break. I wanted to build a Saim-Hann list so I pre-ordered the windrider host set. This would be my first block of 500. I would eventually like to expand this list to 1000pts. Any comments or suggestions on my list would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Very interesting list indeed... Eldar, more or less, aren't the best choice to have for small points games. However, some lists can be very competitive. For example, i can see this list doing well against armies like Imperial Guard or maybe Orks. This is derived from the fact that you have a lot of high AP, decent strength shooting available. I dont see much wrong with the list, especially since you may not be running into any enemy armor in 500 pts. One thing that could change, but really doesn't need to, is the Farseer's power. You could give him/her mind war to deal with those annoying powerfist sergeants or them pesky Ork Warbosses. Also, you could exchange the farseer and warlock for an Autarch on jetbike or maybe with the Spider Jump Generator. You could probably add another bike or two after that, depending on how expensive you make the 'tarch.

Anywho, happy Mon-Keigh hunting!

You should definitely lose Guide. It'll make one Vyper 50% more powerful, but the cost of the power would get you 1/3 of a whole new Vyper. Not such a great deal. I secound the suggestion to swap it out for Mind War. You should also split up your 6-bike squad into two squads of 3 for greater flexibility.

I definately agree on the using mind war. I'm just worried about 3 man biker squads. If I lose one man I am taking a moral check, if lose two I am pretty much off the board. I guess I could run two squads with a warlock with embolden if you think that would work better. Thanks for your suggestions any others would be much appreciated.

With a 3-bike squad, you lose one and take a morale check for one unit. With a 6-bike squad, you lose two and take a morale check for what is equivalent to two units. Not that much of a difference! Same principle applies to being under half-strength. The only big benefit to the larger squad is that your opponent needs to inflict four casualties before you need to start pulling shuricannons, but IMO this is outweighed by the fact that smaller squads give you

1) a smaller footprint for better hiding

2) more flexibility in target selection and

3) twice as many scoring units.
