9 destroyers  450

25 warriors    450

10 scarabs    120

Necron Lord With destroyer body, phylactery, disruption feild, war scythe 195

10 immortals 280

total: 1495

I am gearing up for a game against a witch Hunters player who takes gaurdsman allies. Please let me know what you think of the list.

Seeing as how we talked about your opponent possibly lacking any decent anti-tank beside melta weapons, do you think it would be a good idea to deep strike a Monolith into his lines? His guard allies might make short work of it if they have too many Lascannons.

Are you going to field the Immortals in squads of 5, of one of 10?

If you want another tarpit unit, you might consider losing 5 warriors and taking another 10-base Scarab Swarm. Though this reduces your phase out total from 55 models (with 13 being the cutoff) to 50 models (with 12 being the cutoff), you'll have 60 ablative wounds that can tie up some of his problematic squads.

Then again, I have never played Witch Hunters, so my advice could be total crap. Let us know how it goes.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Okay, though I'm new to this forum...

I do play Necrons Primarily...

First of all
Having the WarScythe and the Disruption field is pretty useless...
Because if you manage to roll a 6...It's a 12 at least...Because you get to roll two dice with it...

The only thing you'd have to worry about is a monolith in that Scenario...
A Ress. Orb would also help...

The Phylactery you could do without...

Another thing...Witch Hunters...
The Witch Hunter player I play uses 2 Exorcists...
And I manage to shoot them down with a Heavy Destroyer or Just one group of Destroyers...

One time I turbo-boosted my lord and attacked the hell out of it...
That could come in handy with your Scarabs if you choose to use them...You put them in front of the lord and he has to shoot them..The Magic of Independent Characters...

I personally prefer Wraiths...

You have 1 Unit for Close combat...and even though he is a monster...Your enemy will probably pour everything he has into destroying that lord...Then..It'll just be a matter of systematically destroying everything else...
Your Scarabs won't do much against Seraphim...A Penitent Engine...And your Warriors, Destroyers, or Immortals...Are just bait for a Callidus assassin...

You lack Melee...You have alot of shots...But nothing for defense if units get in close...And nothing that will instantly kill Witch Hunter units sheerly from AP...Unless they use Stormtroopers...

But go ahead...Test the Waters with that list...
It's alot of points of shooting...It is...Maybe put something big in....Like a Monolith...
But that's just a suggestion...
