Hello everyone
I have reworked and rethought this list through for quite a few times now, but i just cant seem to get happy with my heavy support choise...

I will first try to explain the tactics briefly, and then post my list and questions

For the easy part:
my 2 DF's with FW will do a Fish of Fury, and will be supported by 1 shas'el (the one with the CIB).. this should kill about 10 MEQ, though it might be hard to get 2 DF's together in turn 1 or 2 to do the FoF thingy..

my other shas'el and 1 or 2 fireknife units (making a total of 3 or 5 suits) will hunt down the main unit of the enemy (probably something like assault marines or units that are really threatening to me)... the 3 or 5 of 'em should be able to pop 3 - 5 MEQ per turn.
The last unit XV8's are able to take out 2 skimmers/low armour vehicles (Targetlock, target array, TL MP etc) with a bit of luck... or concentrate on a Falcon might i be able to view/hit his side armour

Then we get to the problem.. my heavy support

I have now 1 Ion cannonHH , a unit of 2 XV88 and a unit of 1 XV88, to hunt down high AV tanks, (the ion cannon is now more a supporter to the FoF or kill main enemy unit)

but perhaps i should get rid of a single XV8 and that lone XV88 , and take a ion cannon/railgun hammerhead instead

Though i was wondering...wouldnt it be hard to make a proper set up, having 4 vehicles hiding behind terrain or something like that??? Or is it not neccessery to hide  your devilfishes, since they can have DP and DL..

Could a skyray work, instead of the ioncannon variant (about same pointsink)
I think the skyray might be useful if you use the markerlights to enhance your fireknife or fury of fish, but pointwise might not be as effective as an ionhead... any thoughts on that?

ok here we go with the list...

Your broadsides should have the A.S.S, your railguns are TL there's no need for TA's. I would have the AFP 'suit running solo, give him a flamer and BSF to keep his points down, use those points saved to get another broadside.

Broadsides need ASS.

Hey thnx for the replies

But about their asses... Is it really that important to move just D6"?? I mean.. TA gives you more ensurance you actually thit the target.

how about dropping 1 XV8 and the sole XV88 and get a railgun in its place?

Yes.

*nitpick* It's 2D6" pick highest.

The re-roll makes them reliable enough. The ability to move and shoot may not seem like much, but it can make a surprising amount of difference on the table-top.
