im trying to make a decent balanced list and coming janurary this will be my first attempt at orks, the new models look amazing and we could really use some more xenos in my gaming group. i will be listing the units i intend to take(the core of the army) but i am unsure about the filler.
Big Mek w/kff
-could give burna
-does he need eavy armor or cybork body?
Lootas (12)
-could a squad of 8 work?
-i want to use either of those numbers based on the 4:1 loota to mek ration in the box9i think you only get weapons for 4
x2 Slugga Boyz (10) Nob w/PK, bosspole
Trukk (not upgrades, should i give it any, it seems a waste on something that is going to die pretty fast)
-should i increase squad size to 12
-should i give them a rokkit and cut there cc attacks
x2 Shoota Boyz(20) w/ 2 big shootas
-should i give them rokkits
Warbikers (6) Nob w/PK, bosspole
-should i go for 2 units of 3 each with a pk?
any comments or suggestions would be helpful im just having problems fill in the rest of the points

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k. Rule #1 - BBAP

This is total theory on my part since I have no idea what I'm doing, but it seemed to me when I read the codex that escalation can really screw with mixed trukkboy/footslogger lists like this.
It also might be good to use deffkoptas instead of bikes if you go footslogger because they'll be on the board at the beginning of escalation games and they only cost a little bit more with lots of squad options (I think they can each have powerklaws and heavy weapons if you want to blow a lot of points). Their guns are also longer ranged than the bikes if you want to keep away from nasty assault units like genestealers or harlequins.

yeah i had considered that escalation could be a problem but i figure that given the trukk's and bikes are so fast they should be able to catch up and support the main line quickly enough. Also 2 full units with a KFF should be able to make it a few turns without too much damage. Honestly my group doesnt play escalation that much because it seems to favor certain armies (all mobilized, all foot slogging), i like the base of orks (2 footslogging, 2 trukk) but i could change either of the other two units, what about the hq, i wanted soemthing besides a biker boss, although i realize he could really help, i might include one for higher points.
what about vehicle upgrades for the trukks, are they needed ?
