As required by Dakka regulation, I replaced all the points costs with an X.

I've thought about the Orks alot over the past year, and decided a long time ago how I'd run the army as primarily an infantry army.

That said, I decided to put the Orks into a woo fun mode by essentially running it like this:

Walk on turn 1. Shoot big shootas in boyz at whatever, shoot Kannons at tanks, shoot the fast wartrakks at tanks.
Kannons will use re-rolls on their ammo runts up as needed, until they run out of 'em.

Turn 2, Waagh the Orks forward. Shoot Kannons at tanks, shoot the fast wartrakks at tanks.

Turn 3, get everyone into a cluster and open fire at 18" with the shootas. See, it's not that it's great shooting or anything, but...I want to roll 60+ dice in the shooting phase per mob. It seems ridiculously funny. Oh, and: Shoot Kannons at tanks, shoot the fast wartrakks at tanks.

If I have to deal with nasty enemies in close combat, I think the S6 Nob will help just enough.

Why the Kustom Force Field Big Meks? Cover saves where I need 'em--basically in the gaps between terrain, but I figure each Mek can give 2 of my Boyz units Cover. Good enough.

No, you can't have my Orks datafile. Sorry.

So, recap: It's a one trick land of pony princesses. But even with the heavy shootas and the rockits and the kannons...it does have a possible 322 shoota shots per turn.

That's Crazy Dakka!!

That looks like a blast to play! One thing, you should really try to get power klaws instead, in case you get too close to a wraithlord, or other such nasty.

"Dude! Wouldnt it be, like, cool if you could move, like, your dude-braj's models to royally piss them off? Yaaaaah, dude! Tooootally crucial!"

Indeed, I hope it is.

Given the sheer number of heavy support choices Eldar players have, WL aren't the number 1 pick. I'll suck it up if I need to. I think the Kannons and Buggies can knock down the Wraithlord or two I might see.

This is a nice enough shootie ork list but I see exactly zero reason not to take power klaws on those squads. It'll make them infinitely better at close combat for a pittance of points.

Also, I wonder if deffkoptas would be better than buggies since they're not armored and can ignore terrain.

For the points, I don't think deffkoptas are really better.

More flexible, yes.

I suppose I could remove 3 buggies for 2 deffkoptas, and get a power claw on some nobs.

I think that the swapping out of a few warbuggies for a couple deffcoptas will get you a bit more flexibility, but it will also help make your army not look so damned boring and cookie-cutter. Same with a couple power klaws in the boyz mobz, makes them a little different from each other.

Perhaps one or two mobz could be choppa-armed. The boyz will be getting into CC, and that extra attack will make a lot of difference, I think.

I think the cookie cutter feeling could be alleviated a bit by some fun conversions as well.

Also, you have one unit in your list with 29 orks, and it has 3 big shootas. Only one special weapon per ten orks from the rumored list.

Well, I have never minded being cookie cutter since 40k is built that way. At least it isn't fantasy!

My Boyz aren't planning to get into CC....that's the idea.

Well, there won't be any actual ork models in the army...they'll all be lizardmen.

Yeah, I know...I didn't want to go over 2000 points lol but I was too lazy to remove a gun.

How do you plan on dealing with very fast, very killy things like deathcompany?

Also how do you think blast weapons will affect you?

and on a side note...whats ur strategy for moving 180+ models a turn?

When you combine Speed and Power you get Lightning.

Well, I plan on being spread out...but frankly, I'll just eat it against blast weapons.

Moving so many models isn't difficult really, it's just a pain physically. I usually move the front and guesstimate the rest into position. I've done this with my Tyranids and my Eldar horde armies.

Deathcompany maxes out at 10 guys. Even if they swallow 15 Orks in an assault phase, I'll just charge them with the rest of the army. Pretty much the same thing with any elite unit, if I can't beat them off with sheer attacks...well, I'll give it the old college try I guess.

I think you'll be better off with rokkit launchas in those squads than big shootas. For a big shoota, you get +1 Str, and +1 Shot compared to just a regular shoota. I'd rather have a gun capable of ignoring armor 3 and taking out tanks, while the combined firepower of the shootas is more than capable of killing any horde army.... But that's just me.

Angron- crushing the theme and fluff of armies one horde at a time.

I have to agree.. for the footslogging ork there is no such thing as too many rokkits. if you replaced them all out no tank would really want to get within 24 of your mobz.. not to mention easy AP shots on marines and such.

big shootas aren't really worth it anymore...
