How are you getting so many elite slots with DA?

Techmarines don't use force org slots.

Doesn't look competitive to me and is not fluffy in my opinion.

I've thought about this army quite a bit myself.

It's not that it's bad per se, it just has alot of weaknesses.

The Techmarine squads aren't Flex squads like an Inquisitors because you can't put any bodies in and the Tech Marine almost never gets hit unless you put alot of shots in.

All dreads that aren't venerable are walking bombs.

Predators are ok in that configuration, but if you lose the TL AC you lose the ability to hurt mechanized forces and get ignored until....they kill/cripple everything else, and can as they say 'get back to you'.

Interesting army. Don't think it would do all that well but sure would be fun. Once.

I could drop one of the Predators and still be able to field the 5 techmarines, and give the dreadnoughts venerable, and maybe one or two can get a lascannon on one of the predators

Any ideas to improve it, to make it more tournament worthy?

Something along the same lines (Techmarine "cheating") that I was thinking about. This idea's been tested a bit now and its simply not mobile enough....not for top tier.

If you want to take advantage of Techmarines this is probably the way to do it. Bottom line for this list, BS 4 Shooting with 1 Whirlwind shot, 7 Lascannons, 11 Heavy Bolters, 7 Plasma Cannons, and 2 PsyCannnons.

Emperors tarot for first turn shooting, YOU get to choose deployment zone on a 8 or less rather than rolling, Null rod for blasting Harlequins, and just a touch of mobile HtH to get to those crisis suits poping out from behind cover to shoot. Deep-strikers, daemons, and drop pods get clobbered by Inquisitor units the turn they come in.

Firepower is hideously immobile however and servitors arent able to weather the shooting storm after moving closer or for a better line of shooting. This sort of list looks pretty good on paper but isnt that great against a mobile opponent that sees what you're doing, its easy to lose the initiative. It's balanced for 'all comers' though and can be fun in a tourney.


You know whats fluffy about this list? 11 Space marines are taking on a whole 1850 pt list. When I made this list up I was thinking "movie marines".

Didn't work so well...

Project scrapped. Not even going to bother trying to improve it.

Good call. It's got too many weaknesses.

If you tone it down to 2 elite vehicles, 2 heavy vehicles, and 4 techmarines you might find a better army.
