Spiking the nutrient shakes with Fenrisian Ale aboard Phalanx, The Imperial Fist Deathstar

This is my attempt at crafting a really lean and mean shooty BA list.

I have been working on lots of conversions with these guys and am almost ready to start painting again, with about 30% of the guys I have already had built with their first few coats of paint. Yellow takes time!

I have some nice Inquisitor and retinue minis that I have always wanted to try out in games because I really like the models and strange look of the unit.

I have never fielded him on serious games, but I think I have found an effective way to use him. I like the idea of my "Radiation Marines" being under surveillance from the -=I=- to make sure they weren't tainted by all that radiation....

Let me know what you think, DH players should be able to see what I plan on using the IQ for since I use a Devastator firebase....

This is my take no prisoners list for dealing with those nasty trick armies that can really screw with game mechanics.

A cookie to the first person who realizes why drop pod armies will have pause for thought...

Please let me know where you see potential weaknesses and what situations you feel this list will have difficulties....

[especially trick lists or wacky scenarios vet tourny-goers may have had exposure to...]

All comments and criticism welcome, even if its to say 'don't mess with it, its good!'

Can't ... read ... yellow ...

[edit] aha, switched themes and now I can [/edit]

On to the comments then.

Lemartes is great.
I have no idea why you have the Inq there. What does he do for your army? Why do you take him? To get the Psycannon?

LasCannons in Dev Squads are super expensive. Put 2-3 of them in your Tac Squads and then Combat Squad them into 2 units - 1 that stays back and shoots, and the other that races forward. The Dev Squad can then go to more affordable ML's and you can spend the points elsewhere.

Seems to me like the Inquisitor Lord is about the Psychic Hood. If you want to be super shooty Waaargh and Lash are problems. That's my guess anyway. Maybe he just likes Psycannons though.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

Gee, it's the deep strike defense inquisitor. Can I get my cookie in oreos please?

Drop pod armies won't (and don't) give a damn if you can (maybe, sometimes, if, coulda, woulda, shoulda) shoot them when they drop.

Don't take this the wrong way, but this list is weak. If you think your tactical squads are going to run up the board, well not in this edition their not.

I am a bit confused by the naming of your units. British Battleships? Military callsigns? Latin? Make up your mind!

If you want shooty marines, don't take blood angels (or any 'dex that forces you to have 10 men to get a heavy weapon).
