WIP, fairly obviously. Let me know what you think!
I'm waiting on the right arm for the Arch Magos himself; and I'm then going to do the implant wires, mechadendrites and greenstuff hood. I think a nice throne back/halo thingie would look cool behind him.
Other than that, I'm trying out different guns to represent the multimelta, and am going to work some detailing over the legs to hide where they're from.

Looks good so far. I agree that you should spiff up the legs a bit to make them more baroque looking. Keep updating i wanna see this beast finished!

Hey all,
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions, and apologies for the lack of info at the start – bit knackered and dozy from glue fumes last night!

Info on the background can be found in the Tempus Fugitives Codex: Cult Mechanicus, that's being used for the Dark Stars Damocles Gulf campaign weekend at Nottingham:
http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/pdf/40k/Codex%20Cult%20Mechanicus.pdf
In short, he's a Techpriest whose life has been extended far beyond the remit of mortal man, who fights on, barely lucid.

Components:
The legs and main body are made from an AT-43 Fire Toad (after consideration, I've taken the shin guards off, which make him look a bit more fragile (he's only T5, Sv2+ after all). The 'pulpit' is framed with the reversed split body of the Toad with bits from the Marine dreadnought, CoD Manufactorum and sentinel joining the pieces. The big Icon of the Machine God is poached from the back of a Baneblade (kindly donated by my mate Chris).

It still needs quite a bit of reinforcement (he's hollow at the moment!), and I've got to work out quite a few details. The Icon will be based with a DKOK tank filter, and I'll use that as the baseline for the 'floor' of the beast.

The Arch-Magos himself is made up of a FW renegade tank rider with an Empire Wizard arm (I ordered a right arm, too, but it seems to have gone missing) and a servoarm from the Enginseer model. He needs copious amounts of greenstuffing, wire, a second servoarm and a right arm. The control panel is from an IG Lascannon.

Ick. My bitz box is haemorraging!

Still to come is a cockpit/throne, a new weapon to replace the AT-43 placeholder, the aforementioned filler for the torso, and a big ol' textured base covered in menials. The legs will also get quite a lot of work to disguise their origin – and then I'm going to cover the flat surfaces in little plastic-tube and greenstuff candles!

If you can't see the piccies, here's the photobucket account for you to have a squizzy at:

Looks cool! The only thing I'd do differently giving the legs some motion instead of just standing straight. Maybe make it crushing something. Can't wait to see it finished.
