Sacrifice to the Dark Gods

I have been thinkin about this for a while and i wanted to get a good grasp on what every army fights for..

So far I have got:

Imperial Guard/Space Marines/witch hunters/ Daemon Hunters: fight for the will of the emperor

Necron: Fight for the C'tan

Orks: Fight because its in there genes?

Chaos: Fight for a number of reasons ( I guess either for their gods, or for vengance against the emperor?)

Eldar: Fight for their survival

Dark Eldar: Fight for lust and greed

Tau: For the greater good ( what exactly is the greater good anyway)

If I left out anything lemme know, I hope yall can throw me some insight and clarification on this.

Tyranids fight because they're the hungry hungry hippos.

Necrons fight more to end all life.

Orks fight because that is what they were created to do, even if it means fighting themselves.

Orks: For fun, pretty much. They're built from the ground up to fight, and they love what they do.

Tau: The Greater Good. Basically, the good of the Tau empire as a whole, including its allies in all cases where possible, under the will of the ethereals.

Chaos: Scores of reasons. Will of a particular chaos god or favored servant of theirs, for pride or greed, or just for the hell of it (Khorne's boys often just play for blood).

I dunno... I imagined the sept guarding the Perdus rift would wear the same black armour as Ulthwe eldar. Maybe being in close proximity to the warp makes you emo.

The whole idea of the greater good is that the Tau empire believes that they can unite the Universe under Tau rule, and bring peace and prosperity to the universe. How they plan to deal with Orks, Necrons, and Nids is beyond me
